Sad about this... is that you cant master study it.. because his art is the manifestation of his million visual libraries that can only be obtained through practice
@anwardaud
@anwardaud 5 лет назад
Yes, because that's the key. If you ask any artist "how can you become a great artist" the answer always the same "practice" Everyone can draw, but not everyone can good at it, so practice is alwas the key

Are there stories that go with these drawings? I saw a picture one day of one scene that had a ton of people on it. It reminded me of DMZ, the graphic novel. Are there stories written that ho with these?

Not to be weird, but the mention about how he can visualize.... isn't that just how it's done? I do that for sure and I'm basically a nobody now. xD Anyway, I get that he visualizes non-stop... Maybe I'm wrong and it's uncommon... /shrug
@ricxster900
@ricxster900 7 лет назад
Sean Warren no your absolutely correct. as artist we are supposed to visualize the end result before even picking up a pencil. whether the end result looks anything like what we visualized is debatable though.😅 that's why we use references to help.
@sebaba001

Most people have a vague idea of what they want their drawing to look like.. then they do sketches.. then they erase, and sketch again.. until they can see it and realize "yeah, that's what I had in mind!", after trial and error.. even professional artists that work 10+ hours a day for years doing simple characters, like comic-books or manga, still need to sketch them out before drawing them for them to come out correctly and in perspective. Kim Jung-Gi creates dozens if not hundreds of characters and objects in 2 and 3 point perspectives in a canvas, without using any reference, with dynamic and natural poses, without sketching. What he does is other-worldly. There is not a single other person I've seen who is able to do what he does. I've only seen similar level of talent on savant autistic people, but he's not, he communicates and behaves like a regular person.
@luv1p13c3

I think your visualizing is different from his. As I learn more about drawing, I understand more what they mean by visualizing. You need to really observe and be able to recreate it. Let's said I ask you to visualize a dog, what you is pretty vague image of it without the detail. You should observe how a dog's limb is differnt from human's leg, how many toes it has, where the tail start from, which part of muscle is prominent, the shape of the nose, and eyes, and mouth, how the teeth looks like, how a dog behave, maybe lying down in a relax pose, this part of its skin will fold on top of this other part of skin. Usually through re-drawing the same object over and over again, you are able to memorize its anatomy. If just have a vivid idea of how it looks like, you are not visualizing or observing enough
@customsongmaker
@customsongmaker 6 лет назад
The difference is that he can start at the top of the page and draw the whole thing, where you would start with general shapes and go back to add detail. But he already knows where the elephant's ear is without having to draw the elephant's body first. If you had a complete visualization, you could too.
@CrowClouds
@CrowClouds 5 лет назад
@@sebaba001 I think he just refused to use pencil at all. If you only use ink it forces you to see the completed image sooner and to make less errors

the loud, booming music was extremely annoying; so loud that it almost drowned out the interpeter's voice. Kim is awesome. But because of the awful production of this video's audio & music track...I'm giving it a thumbs down. If you can't make videos correctly, you should stop posting god-awful ones on UTube.
