Quiet luxury? Don't you mean the way normal, well adjusted adults have always been dressing while kids were into wacky trends? Its as if kids are suddenly dressing like their mom's accountant and calling it ''quiet luxury'' because it sounds cool, lol.
With jackets, always ensure that they fit the shoulders. Hems & cuffs can be altered easily & cheaply. Shoulder pads lead to all sorts of alteration problems which are expensive.
I have a hard time to find anything that is not too loose at belly and wide enough at the shoulder. Most people have a build like a pig these days I guess.
Fyi clothes in thrift stores can absolutely be "mass produced" pieces. Just that they were likely mass produced years ago and people don't wear it anymore which in turn makes that piece you found unique
My abuelo definitely made us aware of a few of these techniques which I’ve followed for years. Very accurate information. You will be surprised at the level of respect that you get in public spaces as well.
Your right. I don't understand, why people pretend to be what they are not. If someone with no money do this, this is cringe. Real men don't care what other people think.
@@fearless6947if real men don't care what others think, why should they care if you think it's cringe because they aren't in a certain tax bracket? If you think this style looks cool, you should dress this way, if you think a t-shirt and jeans looks cool, you should wear that. I can't possibly think of anything more insecure than restricting yourself from wearing what you want because you don't make an arbitrary amount of money.
@@danelisslow3269 my issue with it is, you are pretending to be rich, when you are not. If you truly don't care what others think, why dress in quiet luxury that resembles the rich. I don't want anyone mistaking me, for something I'm not.
@@fearless6947 it has nothing to do with money, at least to me, it's just a cool style of clothes, if anybody asks me I don't lie and say I'm a billionaire. If they assume that, I don't care, because I don't care about what anybody thinks. If I drive a 1965 Ford mustang, I'm not trying to convince people I live in 1965, it's simply a cool looking car. You're the only one who cares what others think, because you seem terrified of the idea of someone mistaking you for something you aren't.
I'm nowhere near being rich, but I've always disliked the hypebeast folks and people who wear huge logos advertising how much they spent on their clothes. I've always been partial to no logo / no brand minimalist aesthetic from the likes of Cos , hopefully one day I'll be able to afford clothes with that same aesthetic but from luxury brands
I agree with almost everything except one thing. You don't have to wear slim fitted clothes, you can actually just wear comfortable pieces while still looking effortlessly classy and chic, especially in modern days.
if you are talking about wearing straight fit clothes in similar style to David gandy I do agree however if you are talking about wearing anything baggy or oversized then you are wrong. This works only for women , men wearing baggy clothes is never classy.
Deary, you do realize that people who specialize in aroma therapy can create 500 dollar+- scents with just a few simple oils? And clothes are easily found at a thrift store for much cheaper and better quality
I've noticed a bunch of these channels popping up recently, and all they do is tell you to do or buy certain things to become some kind of main character, which is total nonsense. Finding high-quality thrifted pieces can be pricey, and completely tailored your entire wardrobe isn't cheap either. They say, "Someone else might end up wearing the same outfit as you," yet they're making a video encouraging people to wear the same stuff. If you're looking for quiet luxury, just head over to Zara or H&M because that's exactly what they're all about. Stop wasting time trying too hard to be different.
You must like the show SUITS... a lot....many images of Mike and Harvey in your examples...I agree on colors...earth tones and solid colors...no prints... are classic and timeless
So basically we made a complete turnaround back to heeding advice from ‘teachingmensfashion’, ‘Alpha.m’, and ‘Real Men Real Style’ now. I always appreciate their advice back in the days for people who’s just starting up, sad to see them get made fun of when their intention was just to help clueless and starting-from-zero men to begin dressing well
I am not going to lie they helped me when I first strated getting into mens fashion and stuff but I would say that their advice like u said was very elementry and not very in depth. After all it felt more like when a company tries to appeal to the youth. It produces a bit of traction but does not really go anywhere. For me the channels that really helped me after the first phase of fashion were channels like Tim Dessiant, Brandon Balfour, Park your smith, and etc.... But I feel bad sometimes seeing the guys who got me into fashion being made fun of.
Great point, I don't watch them anymore (Except a little RMRS now and then) but I appreciate all three for getting me interested in style and showing me the ropes.
I’m not a logo guy at all… it’s hard sometimes when I like a certain piece. Really small logos I get away with depending on the item, but I definitely can’t do the big logos or crazy designs etc all over the shirts or pants you name it. I’ve got a friend who’s the total opposite… loves dressing in his Polo, LV, Dior etc everything he buys to look the part. P.S. were both just 20 years old still living at home with our parents I imagine eh spends majority of his money on designer.
There's so much to take in, and there's also so much wrong with the information you're sharing it almost makes me want to make a RU-vid video to respond to every item that I believe is poor advice or misguided. I spent most of my childhood at Institut Le Rosey (a small private school), I can tell you that no one ever wore Birkenstocks unless we were trying to blend in in certain areas. This doesn't go for the girls just the men. Also when you say well made shoes you're not telling your viewer what that means, you're looking for Goodyear or Blake welted shoes which can be fairly inexpensive all the way up to thousands of dollars a pair.
quiet luxury on a budget luxury on a budget LUXURY on a BUDGET Do you even know the meaning of those two words? xD Beacuse it's something that don't exist, it's an oxymorone. You are either luxurious, either on a budget.
What stores can we go to look for clothing lile this or online? Like a certain place because we dont have a lot of thrift stores around here and the ones that are here are extremely dry. Other than that nice professional video
You are such a blessing to this generation and I must confess you inspire me greatly. I kindly ask; What's your advice to us out Here trying to lead good lives in 2023?
@Johan Wahlgren Congratulations as a single mom life has never been easy. I keep struggling with my bills because what I earn working for others can't give me three square meals. Reading your message, I am so inspired and would like to try investing. I would be grateful if you could link me up with your ffinancial-adviser.
@@TheUpdateHq dude I only discovered you today, but honest to god I love your channel more than anyone else right now, because I really have been clueless and need this guidance to become more presentable and to be more confident in how i present myself, i have been wearing clothes that dont match and with big graphic logos for too long and I see it's time to change and I am glad you have been able to give me that guidance i have been desperately looking for, i know its selfish of my to say this but i think what you have right now (a very well organised channel with very well constructed videos) is so special because of your low subscriber count, i wish you the absolute best but for right now i feel like ive stumbled across something really special and only the few of us here are witnessing your growth, it's honestly suprising af that you are such a small channel because the quality of your videos is up with some of the very best videos i have seen on this platform :) Edit: sorry for the really long paragraph, I just have found passion in your work and you are inspiring me which is something I don't think I have felt yet
Yeah I kinda got the realization that my “wardrobe” consists of only T-shirts and shorts with 2 pants one beige one dark grey. I do live in Florida though so can’t do much about it but I will start thrifting for good shirts that aren’t T-shirts and a watch
If you want quiet luxury on a budget just pay attention in school, practice gratitude, respect yourself and have empathy for others. No clothing is ever going to make you classy or intelligent.
"quiet luxury on a budget" it doesn't make any sense. it's like saying "how to be rich without cash" the whole point of "quiet luxury" is that you're SO rich, that you are able to afford the "special" or "custom" versions of expensive brands which are 10x the price that they'll normally have. for example, if a "normal" loud and bold versace shirt costs $1000, there is a "quiet luxury" version which is either custom-made or only through special order and costs $10,000. what you presented is NOT quiet luxury, but to simply have good style on a budget. *dislike*
You missed the whole point of the video which is hilarious. It is teaching you what this 'look' is and how to attain this 'look' on a budget. Think if it like costume if that helps your brain understand the concept.
@@Leukick and yet you still missed the whole point of the people who have money... you are just trying to be like them, but in fact you aren't.. it's like buying a fake rolex to show of... also this video is not teaching what the look is.. we don't go for this look...... big difference only people in specific enviroments know. you clearly don't...
@@SirMopy I personally know 4 millionaires through someone and I'm VERY close with 1 of them. I've traveled and spent many days going to very high end restaurants, clubs, and yachts with rich people and a couple of famous athletes from the NBA and 1 from MLB... don't make assumptions on what you think I know and what I've seen... FASHION pulls inspiration from many aspects of life and culture, if someone likes the LOOK of a garment, they can go for that look all they want regardless of where it originates from, or who wore it first.
I like only very small logos like Fred Perry,Ralph Loren and Lacoste on polo or PC. Company on sleeve. They are small size.John Smedley with Edwin jeans or hipster trousers always looks good.Herrington beige jacket with light grey V neck and blue oxford Sixties style button down shirt makes you always serious and smart. And they are not too expensive. Oh I forget if you like funky look Gabbici stripe shirt with hipster trousers ,loafers and pork pie het that match. Can go on and on.
I agree with you, but did you really watch the videos for the girls? You'll see that it's not really relevant, these videos give advice like become "that girl", wear make-up, buy clothes at Zara (to build capsule wardrobe), apply an ice cube to your face, read for 30 min, gain self-confidence, apply sunscreen (this one is useful) ... So you see, in the face of this superficial advice, I found the "The Update" videos to be much better, because in the end, they're real advice. But I totally understand your point, but it's not easy for girls with all these "lame" trends.
@@CatasaurusCat Yes I agree thanks man! I hope one day there will be the same content for girls. Without trendy trend or other "superficial" content. Some advice are good but you see not all of them. One day for fun watch Glow up videos for girls and come back to tell me what you think 🙂
GOOD MORNING!! Perú Here 🇵🇪 I like your self improvement, I want to spread that message with you. Here's what I can do for you: 1. Short form edits (Tiktok, Instagram Reels, RU-vid Shorts). 2. Montages 3. Obviously Edit a RU-vid video (Like Vlogs or take clips for streams) Is a pleasure!
there you go.. FASHION... that's exactly how it's not meant to be... fashion comes and goes... OLD MONEY is tailoring like, cifonelli...... elegance.. and class comes from the person in his behavior
I have to disagree somewhat on two of your points. If you have healthy hair and do not put wax or gel in it, don't shampoo it at all! Just wash it with water, ideally naturall water from the Sea or a clean lake. Also I do not recommend people using perfume too much. If you are a young man that is hygienic and sporty, women will LOVE your natural smell. Great video otherwise
2 days ago I recently purchased a black label leather jacket. Its around the $3,500 or $5000 with no labels. Thinking about picking up 2 pairs of Celine Boots. Will be picking up 2 more Ralph Lauren Purple label jacket.
