Be in shape. Buy only natural material clothes, no synthetic cheap stuff, be confident, never stop learning how to dress better.

It’s not necessary to be in shape though. At least not in the sense of being at peak physical condition. A well made suit or jacket can flatter anyone with broad shoulders. (Like me, and I am not exactly what you would call active…)

My best tips for dressing well are: 1) Get in shape 2) Buy few but good quality clothes 3) Play with combinations that fit your style, show who you are. 4) Be comfortable and confident with what you are dressing. Without this, you won't look nice, just tidy.

#2 is so right on. You can mix and match so you don't wear the same thing over and over. As far as I'm concerned, White Shirts are a Must especially for a Job Interview. Then use Black, Blue, Pink, Beige and even Purple. Have a Cardigan, have Ties that aren't "Loud", and a couple of Jackets and you are on your way.

Thanks so much for your compliment. Where I work, it's Casual but everyone dresses properly. Folks wear Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, or even Ralph Lauren but it's proper.

and while that may be the case I don't think it takes him any longer to put all that on than it does for a slob to put on jeans, tshirt, hoodie and sneakers. and if the suit is fully tailored like you say he will be just as comfortable as the slob while looking a million times better. hate the notion that a suit jacket suddenly makes you "overdressed" and "too serious" and can only be worn for special occasions.

Your Home is so wonderful with it's cleanliness, style and organization. You learned Fashion when you wore your Suits to school everyday and then you became a Fashionista. As for Flip Flops, they are considered to be a "must" at a Gym to keep away Athlete's Foot. I love your Record Player and Tape Deck and I love how you use the Shoehorn when putting on your Shoes.

I agree with everything but the skinny lapel DB jacket. DB jacket should always be complemented by a generous peak lapel, classic and masculine. (and I don't give one damn if the jacket is 4000$ from some designer)

Here is how I define if somebody has the right style: You have found the right style if what you are wearing doesn't tell yourself or others that you are dressed up. If people like to compliment you without really knowing what exactly it is, THAT'S the golden spot you wanna be in. Everything more than this is nothing more than a costume or uniform.
