I think the way is know yourself, know your limits and the speed you are drinking. Don't follow other people. Drink some water too sometimes. most important, enjoy the drinks.
There are several factors in giving up drinking including eg motivation and help from friends. One plan I found that successfully combines these is the Sebs Magic Tactic (google it if you're interested) definately the most helpful idea that I've heard of. look at the website SebsMagicTactic.com and incredible reviews.
The responsible drinking test guy averaged pretty close to 1 drink per hour, so of course he's not going to get wasted going at that pace. Not sure the yeast really did anything there.
this is the way: don't take shot and start with some cocktail, set down and drink at the same hour take a beer after, and socialize with people leave the beer in the middle and go out to smoke also keep socializing outside this might take up to 2 hours. ... repeat one more time then go home for the night. don't start drinking from home or bring it with you this will encourage you to drink more to wasted. I wouldn't recommend that It more fun and rewarded if you can control yourself all night long and be in good mood simultaneously.
