hey brother, buying a gallardo tomorrow, let me ask: in my manual porches ill commonly shift into neutral to coast, and sometimes i dont come to a full stop and need to shift back into 3rd or 4th... is this possible on an Egear ?
Mike H happened to me once. It was on a slight incline at a junction. Guessed I gave it too much gas, the engine bogged down & stalled. Not good when oncoming traffic was impeded
Hey few questions. If i am cruising and drop into netural, can you return to that gear if you are coasting or do you restart to 1st no matter your speed ? Also is there a dash light so you know you are in neutral at a stop light? Thanks man always wondered about supercars i can never afford!
When your stopped at a red light with the brake pressed your not burning the clutch. It's only engaged when you start pressing the gas pedal, you should still put it in neutral for long stops to reduce wear on the pressure plate. Also faster shifts will actually wear the clutch more because the car will actually dump the clutch on every shift instead of smoothly letting it out. If your just driving normal put it in a low setting and ease off the gas like a regular manual for best clutch life!
You’d be surprised. The faster shifts are actually better for the Gallardo. That’s why it’s always recommended to drive these in manual mode rather then auto
I'm curious, if you throw the car in neutral when you're driving at 30 MPH for example, does the car go into 2-3rd gear instead of 1st when you go back into gear?
The car double declutches as you would, matches revs with speed and goes into gear. So at 30mph, in neutral, and select (-) gear, it would first rev the engine to about 5k revs, and engage 1st making it a very visceral experience 😜 select (+) and it will rev match 2nd.
When you are in reverse and need to go to 1st, you don't have to put it in neutral, then 1st. What you can do is from reverse just pull the + selector to 1st and the Gallardo does it for you super fast. 😜
+TheNickGTV but for what reason would you go into neutral? I do that in my car but that's because it has a manual transmission the Lamborghini has paddle shifters and no clutch pedal so if you are coasting to a stop I would assume you would be in 2nd gear and if it turns green then you just press the gas.
I have Lamborghini Gallardo and every time I feel so difficulty whenever I have to drive with slow speed, particularly in town and traffic jam on the road.
so does automatic actually drive 100% automatic with these "Egear's" or do you still have to shift somewhat? Is it only sport mode that uses the paddle shifters?
my pops just went from a jaguar rs to this and he told me it's a little difficult to drive and it's a very aggressive car. I drove the jag and that car was fairly easy to drive and had tons of power. I don't think he will let me drive the lambo anytime soon lol .
E-Gear is nice but it also loves to get the error. Low battery, or just sitting it may give you an E-Gear error. Hold both paddles back and hold 10-20 seconds. If that does not work try unhooking the battery, that does not work get ready to cry as it needs to go in for repair.
This definitely isn't an automatic transmission, as it doesn't have a torque converter, in other words, it's still a manual (stick) transmission vehicle, just with an automated clutch. It's an AMT, with the clutch being depressed by the electrohydraulics and computers of the transmission, whenever the driver inputs a gear change.
Great video, but I wonder if you would have the exact same problems with a manual Gallardo? It might seem like every other car but since it's an Italian super car, that might not be the case.

very helpful info, thx so much. may i ask again, letc say before red traffic light, should we pull paddels to neutral when the car "totally stop" , or can we neutral when the car nearly stop (the car still slowly rolling) ? also, driving in city, stop and go situation is unavoidable, so, does it mean gallardo is not considered to drive in city? (or else very easy to break down?) furthermore, is 2004 is not a good year model for gallardo?, heard that many break downs come from that year model. much you for your reply, and help me to summerize before getting a used one.
Fuck that. You might as well buy a Gallardo. The V8 R8 feels like an original car, not a Gallardo clone. It's lighter and more fun everywhere except a straight line.
