Type r on a flat surface you can just let go of the clutch and itll pick up. Such an easy and fun car to drive unlike my previous cars that hard much heavier clutches
This video helped me a lot, but I still don’t have a Type R yet, but your video has answered a lot that some of my other friends hasn’t really answered. Appriciate it a lot 🙏🏽
hill assist is awesome! that's the slight throttle response the car gives it self when releasing the clutch. ez car to drive manual, i just wish the rev matching was as consistent as it is in +R mode
best way to save ur clutch is when u know ur coming to a complete stop, clutch in put it in neutral clutch out and just let it role, u dont want to ride ur clutch for long, as long as u in neutral it doesn't matter how fast u clutch out
Just came across this video, this is an awesome watch!! Any tips on uphill traffic?? I just bought my type r a bit ago and am nervous to drive on highways.
I'm watching this for fun. Lol. I have an Si and I already know how to drive a standard. Great video though. I enjoyed it. Question for you if you see this. Does the Type R have rev hang? Asking as I want to get a Type R for my next car but the rev hang will drive me nuts if the Type R has it. My Si has it and it drives me up the wall. Really hoping the Type R doesn't have it as I won't buy it if it has it.
A stock ctr tune has slight rev hang no where near as bad as the si from what i hear. You can also reduce it a lot with hondata. So yes there is rev hang but its not too terrible!
Just learning how to drive manual with my brothers car. I’m going to sell my AccordX and get the Type R only thing is when you put it in reverse on my brothers car you have to pull the shift collar up to get it into reverse how do you have to do it for the Type R?
So when shifting gears from 1 to second. Clutch in and shift then give it a little gas and clutch out ? do I have to clutch out slowly like when I'm starting getting the vehicle going in first gear ?
The Type R actually has auto rev matching atleast for downshifts so unless you turn it off it’ll automatically add gas. For upshifts though on any manual you want to clutch in + off the gas, select your gear, then let it out and get back on throttle. You’ve got more leeway to let the clutch out faster in higher gears like 5th for example because of the ratio and the fact that the flywheel doesn’t have to work as hard.
at 8:57 cant u also move the car by letting go off the clutch slowly without going up all the way and not applying any gas? I think that is why you did not stall, i might be wrong.
Manual is best to learn how to drive. I wish that there are more manual out there, but most cars are CVT or automatic, 👎. Turbo engine with manual give a better power and torque!! I love Manual!!
A friend of mine taught me how to drive manual with his WRX because I wanted to get a Type R, I was pretty scared cause their car does have a lot of horsepowers but it was super fun learning. The Type R is definitely forgiving and is super easy to learn manual on, sometimes I feel like my clutch broke because of how light it is compared to the WRX; I've been getting better and better now and love the car! Unfortunately, I am thinking about changing the transmission oil to Amsoil because going from first to second gear does feel pretty rough and if I shift too slowly the rpm goes down pretty fast and I make the car jerk XD. Also, I checked out your Remus Exhaust review and I'm definitely thinking of getting the exhaust now, it sounds amazing, by any chance does it drone on the highway at all? To me, the stock exhaust does have some drone when I drive on the highway, also, welcome back!!!
@@SyriousMedia I've heard a lot of good things about Amsoil so we are definitely making the right choice to switch. Ah gotcha, I didn't tune mine yet and I only have a PRL intake but I think I'm just gonna get the exhaust and new wheels and keep everything else stock
