Almost 5 years later, your video saved me. I had 15 minutes to figure out how to drive a JCB Loadall for moving some heavy pallets (approx 700kg) from a delivery truck. I was genuinely terrified, but seeing you use those controls gave me a fighting chance, especially with tilting the forks and putting into reverse. If you're ever in this situation, here's a few things I learned; 1. The controls on joystick are /extremely/ sensitive, we're talking millimeters. 2. The foot brake takes a lot of pressure to fully stop the beast, use both feet! 3. The handbreak is the black stick handle on the left hand side of the seat, it's stiff and very hard to move. 4. Lower the forks a few times while pushing through the pallet slots, as they get thicker towards the end. 4. Go slower than a hamster. I'm not even joking. 5. Focus, concentrate and don't f*** it up. Good luck to any other newbies, and thank you FarmingLife for making this video!
Once I got in one of these just to move it at a job site but couldn’t get it out of reverse. Do you is there a button you have to press while going back to forward?
I love my 505-20, dealership delivered it in 2018, forks only, open cab with rear window, it’s a blast to operate but in the summer, the seat can get rather hot. I’ve cracked our driveway at least twice with it. The steering radius is unbelievable for the little telehandler as well. It’s like a part of our family, she shares our garage with our family trucks and cars.
Been driving one of these for 4 years almost daily now, 8 hours a day and i just learnt the function of 3 new buttons :P Sure, mine is older and does not have all these functions, but still the boom suspension and 4wd was new to me o.O
@@StefanBacon it took me ages to get it. I very rarely need to but if it's the only way to get a tight pack you've got to make it happen. Usually I'd just nudge pallets side ways with the forks but if you've got a 1 tonne stillage getting packed around fragile stuff you've just got to use the machine.
Hey, As much as these videos are helpful and entertaining for others you might want to reconsider doing a video like this again. Reason I say this is thieves will use videos like this to their advantage to steal and drive the machine's. Just my opinion. David
