Good move! Timestamps is very good for a video like this. Its annoying when we have like race videos with 2 hours or more with various categories and quali and mains without.
I’ve been racing nitro now for 15 years, and never really felt as though an RC “education” existed, as most pro drivers and local fast guys only seem to teach the very basic essentials. I have felt very stuck in the D and C mains of open/intermediate racing without much upward improvement recently. I need help to bridge the gap in my knowledge, which I can then apply to real life. THIS video from JQ, in addition to the nitro tuning video released last week, has me feeling more confident in my racing now than I’ve ever felt. THIS is what real help and education looks like. JQ, thank you for what you’re doing here. It’s having a very substantial impact on my enjoyment and continued pursuit of this hobby

Lowering the front toll center makes sense to me for the camber gain. But I feel it’s weird bec now you have more roll and I feel the front would now roll and drive point to point the same (without make of the front stiffer)
Great video always like a good car setup guide and to get more knowledge. Would you be able to a follow up vid on how esc settings can affect the car and when they might change them eg boost coming in to early mid to exit also the transmitter expo do they change this for carpet and dirt throttle and steering as a lot of racers have high end transmitters but don’t know when or why to change them.
Enjoyed the driving technique talk straight from the mouth from one of the best to ever hold a transmitter. Wish you guys could've been even more detailed but I liked hearing him discuss his braking points, off throttle time, when he got back on gas, etc. Hopefully you get more top drivers on to discuss this stuff!
Wow, great video. Every word is very informative. I like section, where you talk about setups and you thinking about it, if you have same feeling about change and if the change make sense. If someone make talk about setup and don't understand it that much as you do, the talk isn't that good and informative, clear and understandable. So thank you and keep going.
45 mins in and i HAVE to take a break. My head is soinning with all the information. Very informative. I have learned a lot being a noob in the hobby. I am happy on how my 6.2 drives but has been struggling for months with my 4wd and just cant find a happy place on how it drives. Im so keen on taking what ive learned so far from this video and putting it to the test on my 4wd and see if i can finally get the setup right. Have a B64 and yes i know it wont drive as good as the 74 or newer cars but i wana get it good enough to give a few brand new cars a good hiding.
ive always held a level of respect for you even though we have never gotten along. Your videos are quite entertaining, a nice change from most RC related RU-vid content.

Found it very interesting and insightful, I personally am not running much 10th scale, but here in the Netherlands we have a lot of astro tracks and I think a lot of what was talked about applies. Would like the next video with Rivkin? Would love to learn more about roll center and center of gravity..
This was excellent. Very helpful for me, a club level racer with about 1 year of experience that's just getting into making suspension setup changes. I am so on board for these videos -- both the interview and the breakdowns. Bravo.
I really liked this chat, it was really interesting to hear him talk about driving and his thinking, even if i never raced 10th scale or driven on carpet. What i would love tho see too is a bit of a shorter video with more visual examples to make things a bit clerer. Anyway, great job, keep it up!
Very good video and really a good thing for RC racing. It also shows that it is important to give everyone a second chance... RC Offroad racing, just one big family. Big thanks to Bruno, this will help many drivers. Conclusion: Great video, great performance for our hobby and really good interview
Great video! What I would like to see is a similar one on the psycological “war” during a race. Have no idea who to invite for this but sometimes a race is won by getting into your opponents head, during the week before, during saturday practice, just before start of qwali and or final 😅😉

I like how you ask Bruno to explain and give good description and his solution in setup and also how to drive,, Other pros just put out setup sheets and thats it. A person like me will never know how they arrive to their posted setups. Love this format. Maybe you can interview Jared Tebo for 1/8 buggy off road racing in one of your segments.

Thanks a lot for the great interview, JQ an Bruno. It gave me new insights and will sure watch it again. I ordered your book last weekend and looking forward to start reading it. What I would love to hear about is 2WD (astro and carpet). A kind of interview like this would be great with a driver who likes to tell about all he knows. I liked to hear Bruno talk about driving style. The racing video's and pics of Bruno's car were also very informative. You talked about getting faster, but only according to car set-up. How about electronics? They have a big influence on car behaviour to... The interview can't be too long 😉

My theory on lower shock mounting position: if you go outside that gives you a lower ride height > chassis bottoms out earlier when turning in on a corner on a high grip carpet track > less weight on outside tire > less grip on outside tire > less chance of flipping the car over.
I learned a lot. about setup and determining what happened. In the Netherlands we only drive 1/8 on astro turf with super high grip. so I think this is pretty similar. Thanks. Come over to MachOne Helmond and race with us some time. We don't mind you being fired
Bruno stumbled through the set up talk quite well. I heard him interviewed a while ago and he said he does not even bring his cars home, he just shows up at the track and drives them. His driving technique explaination was great though!

great video! i do have a question about "when you are not fast enough". there was only talk of driving and car setup, but do they adjust the esc settings to help add speed or just run the same settings at every track?

Nice work man, I think you are bringing much needed quality rc racing content. Looking forward to your next videos. Do you plan on making on-road racing material also? One small suggestion: when your guest is explaining racing action it would be nice if he could move the mouse cursor on the screen or play/pause the video himself to give more accurate info (talking about the "banner" part).
@@invisiblespeedrc if you're using Google meetings or zoom that's already a built in function. Then again, it's not really necessary, just think it would be a nice improvement.
Set-up question: are the Kpi2 and the 2 dot steering plate a lot better than the initial Kpi1 ? Does someone still run with the sotck one ? By the way, love the content that JQ is giving right now.

See now that’s confusing to me when he talked about moving the rear camber link up on the tower - he says it’ll make the rear end looser??? Wtf???? Ok - that may be true... but I believe that it’s a minute difference and in that it’s consistently looser. I like moving it down it allows for more body roll in the rear and ESPECIALLY on INITIAL turn-in THUS creates the back end to break loose quicker and there for u get more steering. Moving it up just makes the car feel slower and lazy (and push). - not the way to be fast.
by moving the link up it might be that he gives the car less camber gain and that reduce overall grip on the rear end of the car but he removes camber gain in such small amount that it dont affect the roll as much that it gives more grip. remember that eaven small subtile changes does effect on the car. as i learnt more about it sometimes you need to sacrifice traction on one point to gain it in another.
Hey JQ, can you make a video about the EU Nitro debacle? Time's running out on that topic and I've talked to way too many people that do not know about this yet. The regulation in question is 2019/1148 you can find a statement about it in the EFRA news section as well. If nothing about the law changes it'll be easier to buy a gun than to buy our fuel after January.
@@invisiblespeedrc Correct, as it stands now, EFRA probably won't be able to change much. But I believe that, the more people know about this, the better the outcome will be. Even if it just reminds people to stock up on fuel for the next season that's better than people having to buy mystery fuel because the regulation is still unclear and there's no good way to get permission to buy the good fuel as of right now. That's where the main focus should be, to allow members of their respective local associations (for me in Germany it would be the DMC) and EFRA to acquire a license as part of their membership. Or hell, allow the tracks to buy the fuel and only hand it out for use there, anything is better than a blanket ban.
Its not a debacle, shop can get and sell you the stuff, you only need to get the paperwork done with your goverment prbly 2-3 hours work, and Show the Shop your exxeption papers and then you can get and drive whateveet percent you love
@@daBONDi That's the thing, as per the EFRA's statement, most countries (read: all) do not have a system for this yet, as the current system in place will become invalid in February. I just spoke with a german fuel manufacturer yesterday. As it stands right now there's no way to get the stuff for hobby use after January. Yes, you can sign up a business and buy it through that, but that still doesn't allow you to use it for your hobbies and is only really an option for big race teams and contract drivers.
