Hey, nice Pete. Retired a couple of yrs ago….did long haul….last 5 yrs with Heritage Truck Lines (Ayr, ON) I did local. Most of our local trucks were beautiful dark green Petes and I really enjoyed driving one of them. Inside was exactly the same as yours. The guys took great pride in our trucks and we washed them almost every day. As you know, the secret to the 401 is knowing which lane to be in all the time. Retired 6 hrs north of TO. All logging trucks and flatbeds in my area.
Cool Matt , I’ll watch this nice long one tonight after work, but I’ll like it now cause I always like em. I will also say a little prayer ahead of time that nothing else more has gone wrong with the truck ! 😂
I’ve heard you say you were taught to drive at a driving school well they’re either very good or as I suspect you’re a cut above.most of us were around trucks 🛻 all our lives that’s how we learned I am extremely impressed 👌
Always glad to see you doing okay Matt, i dunno if you remember but a while back i asked if you were thinking of bringing back the series of Advanced Trucking Techniques, i really enjoyed them videos and put those skills to some use!
@@callthemall take your time!, I've noticed that every video you upload teaches me something, thanks to you I learned how to back b-trains, haven't mastered it yet but at least I have a general idea! Haha, keep it up Matt that Pete looks better everytime:)
Just got my AZ and got lucky and got hired with an awesome company who is going to train me on flatbed and floating equipment. Do you have any tips on throwing straps in the wind over a tall load? Love the videos, hope to see ya on the road!
you have to go east 401 past dufferin to get to allen rd. watch the #2 lane southbound as had a set of A trains maxed out and was cut off by 3, 4 wheelers and almost broke the steering wheel trying to stop. Retired now but 379 4 evah' !
Nice video, this might be a bald statement but here in europe the new DAF (paccar owned Truck) launched. And we´ve had quite a few complaints about shaking and maybe a Check engine Light appering. We did a "Engine Flush", where you basicly cut in between the Tank and the Fule system and let an additiv in the enginge, let it run, let it sit over night and then conect the Tank again. Just a thought if you have done something simular to help the Shake? Greetings, Love the vids, keep it up
Last time I was driving in that area the technique was brake then idle in 1st gear, try not to have to brake but have to because a car took the gap, idle in 1st again, repeat for an hour
since i got my truck i always had a bit of a shake at around 68mph. when i first changed the rear brakes we found out one of the wheels lug nut holes were expanded. replaced the wheel it went away... Guessing the wheel wasnt seating perfectly to the outside one, being with just a bit of an offset.
There is a whole other stupid people on the highway these days taking too many chances I used to have different vehicle to tag when used to go up north great video thankyou for sharing here from Ontario Canada 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦❤️❤️❤️😎
The 401? Yup I hate it 427, 410( Brampton) as new AZ driver BUT... it improves my level on confidence and skill set to improve my rookie season. GTA, Niagara falls (roads) don't like at all now the Niagara falls highway LOVE IT compared to heading towards Toronto on the 403 to the 401 ( WAAY MORE crashes) compared to Niagara region
Hey buddy just a quick question. Do u use ur fuel pedal twice shifting to another gear . I mean use firstly going to neutral and the again using to go in another gear . Or u use just once for both things. Hope u got my question. Coz I just started driving standard .
When shifting up I let off the throttle, and it pops out of gear, and then put it into the next gear when the revs drop to the right speed. When I’m downshifting, yeah one little blip of the throttle to pop it out of gear, then another slightly bigger blip to bring the revs up for the next gear. Hope this helps!
@@callthemall Thanks for the reply! I've just got a GoPro and I was trying to think of cool ways to show truck footage. I drive a Kenworth K104 in Australia, so I thought it might be cool to do videos. Have you ever tried using a head mount but on the passenger side headrest? That could be a cool way to do a passenger pov view, like a ride along.
Hey mate, do those engines have injector roller issues like the C12 & 3175 etc. the pins in those engines are brass and once wearing the do down hill fairly quickly and you get a miss. The C15's have a steel pin which would last longer but would possibly give that injector issue I reckon 🤔 Maybe talk to Josh from Adept Ape - RU-vid
I call it using the walls the safety barriers the barrels setting a pick on the car you got a signal your big man to come up from the block and set the pic on the guard that's checking you 🤣
Sorry bro it seriously sounds like a weak cylinder when you accelerate. It sounds flat. I know you’ve done all the harnesses. Cannot remember when you had the spacer plate off doing the under valve cover harness. And checked cam lobes for scaring.. I think it’s a weak injector or a cylinder issue. Yeah internet guess of sorts
The 401E and 401W splitt off is always just a pain in the ass. Doesn't matter what time of day. You have dickheads trying to get you off and jump ahead.
People driving at different rates of speed messes everything up and it drives me crazy. People cutting up in and out of traffic. I hate city driving. At least in a big truck you can see far ahead and see what's going on with traffic.
Great video driver, the only thing I can say is this, the world is full of stupid people that wants to go no where fast and don't know how to drive, but they want in front of a big truck. I guess you have them everywhere. LOL all we can do is keep our distance and keep on trucking. Stay safe out there my friend and keep the videos coming and always travel safely catch you on the next one.
Some days we get lucky but I feel like 95% of the time they just I call it dive bombing when they come up there at the last second try to squeeze in and take all your stopping distance they're terrible about that in Detroit then get mad at you I'm not the one rushing I'm already at work don't get mad at me then people just don't pay attention. It's sad that people been working some of these jobs for 20 years and they drive like it's their first day going to the job it's terrible they don't pay attention to the exits any of that us truck drivers we are special breed it's starting to get to the point where the newer drivers are worse than these four wheelers but a good truck driver sees everything hell it gets to the point where I'm counting planes in the skies and looking around I catch my coworkers going the opposite direction they're looking at their phones I shoot them a text like get off your phone and drive that truck 🤣🚛💨💨💨
