How to Dump Your RV Tanks

Dealing with your tanks may not be the most glamourous job but it isn’t hard. We see plenty of people joke about never wanting to “touch that stuff”, but in reality, dealing with black and gray tanks is something every capable person in the RV should know how to do.
Come along as we walk through setting up the sewer on our Airstream, dump tanks and then tear it all down. We’ll give a few tips along the way to help make the experience un-memorable and as uneventful as possible.

You aren’t drinking the grey tank water so you can open both at the same time. In fact you can use you gray tank water to back fill the black then flush if you have an extra valve like you have. This is often what I do in my older model travel trailer without a black tank flush or at dump stations where water is not available. There is really no need to prevent cross contamination between the black and the grey… they are after all attached to the same exit spot. I also use Happy Camper treatments in both my black and grey tanks.

Our rig does have a black tank flush so we use that when dumping. That, and a lot of water when flushing, has helped to keep our tanks happy.

Just wondering which adapter you guys use for sewer connections that are either not threaded, or else the threads have been mangled and it won't screw in any longer?
