Me, even more of an intellectual: lives in 2020 where the tier 10 British cv audacious gets 42 rockets per attack with 28mm of pen and a 10% fire chances per rocket and their bombers that have 41mm of pen, drop 18 bombs and have 42% fire chance per bomb
Everybody wrote off the Dunkerque as a bad ship, but not you. You braved the learning curve and figured out how to make that ship wreck face. That's why I'm subscribed to you.
Look at smolensk 16 guns with 4 second reload and 9% fire chance. 16×9% is more than 100% so its a guaranteed fire everytime. Edit: look at comment below
@@juicemeister1984 that's not how statistics work my friend. If there are 16 guns with 9% percent chance each, it's 1-(0.91^16)=0.78. You have 78% fire chance if all the guns hit the target.
it's like. . . people can play this game for years and still not know a thing about hull coefficients on fire chance . . .? god this community sometimes
I am French, and I laught so much viewing your video. At last, you are probably the only reviewer who understood how to play this ship. I definitively love the playstyle : all weapons in the front, fire at will blocking a corridor, and kick some broadside lovers ! +1 suscriber
I love this thing, Dunkerque is one of the best i think in Tier VI below the Bayern. Well i know many people love Fuso and Bayern but this thing is very good for sniping or cap point (thanks to its Speed that fastest in Tier VI)
The Dunkerque is that one ship that people no one takes seriously until they realize a competent player is driving it. It has some of the most ridiculous bow armor for its tier and has railguns too.
astf returns to impart knowledge upon the world in this latest spy filled video. Tackling the ship best known as the "anti-france" due to its forward mounted guns, astf highlights the advantages of purchasing and using the ship. The torpedobeats aren't lacking in this video either, as astf whips his hair back and forth between the metal fishes in a stunning display of baguette agility. You'll be sitting on the edge of your seat as again and again the hollow ringing of bouncing shells follows the concussive explosions of his enemies. Riveting the whole way through. 9/10 IGN
No, it's because the French Navy are KLINGONS and only charge FORWARDS and never retreat! They don't have a word for "surrender"! I love my Dunkerque. Could be because I'm crap with real battleships though....
I thought atsf did ships that were hard to play or have unusual play styles, like aggressive IJN DD (something some people like me are familiar with, but majority of people don't, hence needing a video to educate those people)
Your vids are always perfect. The memes are perfect, the torpedo beats are perfect, the gameplay is perfect. Great job. Also, don't worry about the delay. We don't care. You keep doing you, man.
The reason for the excellence of the French ships is that they were trying to upstage the German (and Italian) ships, who were in turn trying to upstage the British ships.
Just because a new philosophy military elite was convinced that battleships were useless so they intentionally screw the design up as well as ground forces being priority in the budget as well as industrial facilities being obsolete and thus they couldn't come up with good designs before the aftermaths of WW1...
You should do a How To Yamato video. It's a great and fun ship, but not as easy to play as many may think. It has the biggest guns, best penetrating shells, thickest armor, and long range which give it incredible destructive potential, but it does have it's weaknesses that a smart opponent can exploit, and can frustrate a new owner if they're not fully aware of what they're getting into. When I got mine I was aware and prepared for some of the not so great things about being a Yamato owner, which has helped me enjoy the ship more, and become a better Yamato player quicker, than if I went into my early Yamato playing experience blindly. While it's a beast, it has an extremely slow turret traverse rate, turns like a very large brick, takes a long tome to get to full speed, and takes a long time to slow down and stop. You're biggest threat to the enemy team, so expect a lot of attention from enemy DDs, and the rare enemy CV that occasionally shows up in a tier 10 game. Finally the Yamato has an insanely huge appetite for credits at the end of a game if you even take only moderate damage. Being an effective Yamato captain is like walking a tight rope. You don't want to over extend, or yolo even just a little bit, because you will be focus fired big time, and the enemy won't let up until you're dead. At the same time you don't want to be a sniping camper the whole game, because you rob your team of a valuable game changing resource that can unload hell on the enemy, when you're pushing with your cruisers and destroyers as a team. The Yamato has incredible range, but RNG isn't so great if you're camping in the back and sniping. This also pisses off your team to no end, as they're trying to push and cap, while you're sitting safe in the back being useless.
1:11 As a person who has played Dunkerque a ton(I have over 100k base XP on it, and I obviously don't run base XP flags because it is a premium), this is EXACTLY how you play it. But beware, Sinop and Nagato overmatch you. Thankfully none of the German bois that you will face(unless you are div.ed with a tier 7 and matchmaker hates you that particular day) will overmatch you. Just keep an island between you and those ships with 406s and stick your bow towards the enemy team and shoot your pitiful 330s at them. Its pretty fun though, so the stats aren't the entire story. Its one of those ships that look like crap on paper, but behave really nice in battle. Also its got good speed, so if you are getting overwhelmed, go undetected, turn and GTFO with your 31 kt top speed. Also helpful in late game if you are trying to cap and repositioning is easier. No speed boost or reload boost tho, which is sad.
Great video, and just about spot on when talking about the"dunkerque; it's a great chaser battle ship and like you mentioned, it's not for everyone, but heck I like it, also!
As a french who lived 20 years in Dunkirk (Dunkerque) ,I'm proud of this ship ,which is not to be played like other sheeps :p I always wonder why all foreigners think France = Accordion ....
Being from Germany I went throught Alsace last week with a friend. At some point we noticed many villages kept their German names and started to guess how the French might pronounce them. Ended up hilarious as hell
You should do the Saipan next. Alot of people are going to be buying it now that its in store again and going to be like me when i first got it; "OMG a premium carrier! must buy!" (lol). Only to at first think its crap and weak after the first few games..... until you learn how to play it and get a 15 point captain in it and then yolo every everyone unfortunate enough to tango with you ^_^
fair enough. CV play isnt for everyone. but its def one of the more fun to play. because 9 tier 9 bombers in a squadron on a tier 7 CV with a 15 point captain ^_^
You install mandatory mod. 1, jack of all stats mod.1, I-have-no-other-choice mod. 1..." :D Eurobeat, you are just epic, don't you ever stop making these videos. I watch them every day, never gets old!
various stages of french security alerts - Def con 5) increase white flag production. Defcon 4) run around panicking. Defcon 3) soil your trousers and blame your allies for stench. Defcon 2) move your government to the south of France abandoning Paris. Def con 1) raise white flags and blame your allies
mansuy adrien We mainly suck at politics and economy more than at war... Should we be a militaristic, state, things would be different, but I don't crave for a militaristic dictatorship either... In WW2, it was the politics who failed to prepare us to war... But some military officers and men fought bravely and surrendered not because of orders but just because they were out of ammunition, some parts of the Maginot Line remained undefeated at the time of the armistice but they were not fighting the whole of the German army. In terms of tactics, the Blitzkrieg used by Hitler was earlier theorized by De Gaulle himself... After WW1; our politicians and some high ranking officers were simply afraid of being responsible for another massacre, "Never again", they said even when a psychopath is building a top notch army at your doorstep...
huuu... i'm not french.. but why you discriminate them so bad in 1940s reference ...? i hate to say it but french were severely cut during ww1. and during napoleon war..
"french were severely cut during ww1. and during napoleon war." - just like ze Germans. "too much war." They were fighting with Germans during these wars (1870, 1914) and yet Germans didn't loose their mojo. You may not want to attack others but if you are too scared to defend yourself and to put up a fight then don't expect others- those who DID fight the same enemy- to respect you. Yes, the French fought Germans for a moment, but at the first sight of a trouble they gave up. Like pussies. Another reason- Sitzkrieg. That was simply pathetic.
