I’m late to the party but wanted to thank you for the tutorial. I’m wasting time trying to find the right color wig when I can create the color myself! Thanks again!!
I wanted to know if this works on human hair ? I have black box dye over my hair, i was going to do color remover and maybe this method to get to a nice copper brown color.. any tips?
i don’t recommend it! it’s safer to use a developer with a color or bleach to lift on your natural hair especially if it’s previously colored with black box dye. black is extremely challenging to remove & box dye is unpredictable to know the outcome after lightening. try mixing with color or good quality bleach with a low developer like 20vol (no higher than 20vol) 🩷
This turned out so pretty! Do you have to do anything to protect the lace? I’m trying to lighten my wig just a little bit and I don’t want to damage the lace!
i’ve seen it done before! i believe it works the same just be careful not to leave it on too long because you don’t want to dry it out or damage your hair 🤍
I'm a guy and wear a hair system. Somehow (had to be my stylist) my nice medium brown human hair system got dyed dark black just on one noticeable section of the back (like a quarter of the wig). Do you think this could work for me if I use that developer just on the section that is back?
i'm not sure because i know this method really work best if the hair is virgin/never been dyed. i don't think anything would happen if you tried though! but if it was dyed black, it would be tougher to get it back lighter.
I followed everything to the T and my wig still looks very dark, it looks maybe a shade lighter but I left the 30V developer on for 9 hours. Not sure what to do now
oh no! unfortunately, sometimes it could just be the wig. if you're not against using bleach, an alternative is you could do a bleach bath. fill up a bucket of water (not too much) and add in 1-3 scoops of bleach (depending on how much water) with 10 or 20 vol developer. it will turn pretty quickly so i would check on it every 5 minutes. it usually takes no longer than 15 minutes! i hope this helps! 🤍
For natural hair, I wouldn’t suggest it. There’s a huge possibility it wouldn’t work on your natural hair and can be damaging if you leave it on too long. It’s best to just use bleach or color with it on your natural hair.
Can NOT put 40 volume developer in your hair omg not real hair that will MOST DEFINITELY BE THE WORST!!! How do I know me and other people I know our hair LITERALLY burnt off broke off so badly at the ends! If it’s the wig then it will work but MOST DEFINITELY NOT ON REAL HAIR!!! Please no 30 or 40 developer on BLACK HAIR!!!!!!
Actually, don’t comment on her lashes when that’s not the point of the video. That’s called a backhanded compliment; which was one hundred percent unnecessary and irrelevant on your behalf!
