Hello again, this is another segment in needle felting. Here I show you how to dye wool. My Etsy Shop: The Crystal Tree www.etsy.com/shop/TheCrystalTree
Hi, thank you for sharing your experience! After you posted this video were you successful to make black wool with a different dye? I wonder whether watercolors (not the washable crayola ones) would work... I just need so little it is worth a try.
Thank you!! I have tried different types of Kool-Aid and food coloring and found that Kool-aid gives you the brightest colors and that you can mix two colors of Kool-Aid to get the colors that you need.
thank you for sharing this :) I'm trying to dye orange natural colour wool using yellow+red food dye but it's not working :( it feels like the red colour don't wanna stick on the wool and when I take out of the water, only the yellow is in the wool and the red it's still there the water... do you know why this is happening maybe?
Aline Moroz hi it may be the food coloring dye. Some dyes these days are not made out of the right type. Like the dyes you see in this first image won't work with resin because they are water based and Won't really dye my hands like dye used too. I used orange kool-aid to get orange. You may want to read up on your dyes to see what type they are. Also some dyes are stronger then others. One dye I used I didn't have to put anything in the water the it just needed to be heated up and the wool just took it. Hope this helps it's been a long time since I dyed anything. Also some colors I used like purple or trying to use black always came out grey.
