I bought this pretty backdrop off of Wish.com and it came with fold lines on it. There are different ways you can try to get these creases out. Steamer and hanging it ( two weeks)
. That didn't work for this material I got. I also brought from different venders.
This method worked for all three backdrops BUT...not all backdrops or irons work the same.
REMEMBER to test a corner out first, try a small edge near where the crease is to see if it leave a mark, and do this in sections. Check..check ..check. Each backdrop you purchase can be different depending on the vendar you go through. I have a blue with flower print, white ( you see in video), and dark wood background (like almost black) I did this one in sections at a time. I did flip it over a few times to make sure it wasn't damaging the background.
So this does takes some time to do this. I roll them up when finished and I have had them ever since. I don't even have to re-iron them once they are rolled up and stored. The dark one did not get any odd creases over the fold lines when I ironed it BUT each material is different and your IRON has different setting. Why I tell you what to set it too in the video. I CAN NOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH. Why you need to move carefully but also test out a corner and then test where the creases at. So go to the far side and iron small part that wouldn't take away from the background/ you could crop it out it it were to damage.
IF it looks like it's going to leave a mark/show oddly DO NOT continue to iron the entire background. STOP leave it and come back to it the next day. If the crease/the mark is still their then Iron wont work on this. You will need to try a steamer ( steam on the no picture side) or a hang it with weights and leave it for like a month. I tried this with this backdrop steamer did nothing just got it wet. Hung it up for like two weeks nothing, folds and wrinkles still their. I even did one in the dryer to heat it up...now that damaged it for sure and made it more wrinkled..left wrinkles in the image. ( I had one I had to throw away) If those don't work I'm not sure what you can do those fold marks from the manufacture could be their permantly and they sold you a bad product.
This so far has worked.
Not all Vinyl Backdrops should be treated the same. Each one may have a different process on how it was printed so always be careful and test small parts of it before doing anything to the backdrop. This one was only printed on one side and the image was put on with heat. They have large printers that can do this. Never iron on the printed side you will ruin it.
All three of my backdrops I still have since I made this video and they are all in great condition. You can't even tell they had been folded. Rolling them up helps. like you would a poster. 08/21/2021
