Dude, this is the bane of my life on mine. The large channel on the right of the door had rusted through so had to be replaced. Thankfully there's a rubber seal you can remove which gives you access to the screw to replace. It's like they knew that this would fail so many times. Still not right though as moves very slowly. Great instructional video, very clear and light hearted.
Excellent video. Thanks Wish I'd seen this video first. I fixed the clip but the window kept on popping it back out on the way up. Now I've to find that horrible rubber guide that's impossible to see.
Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge. I have got the same bmw compact exactly like yours and in still blue color. I have booked it in for repair on Tuesday 23 April. I have experienced the window problem 4 to 5 times and decided not to use the power window and I got out of the car every time I entered the car park. Even though I stopped using the power window it still happened i.e the window glass did not go up after I used the power. My luck was running out! Your video is helpful for me and liberating.
I have the problem where the window dips out like yours did at the end but like way more, it’s like it’s getting hung up by something inside the part where you can’t see, if greased up the rails and changed the actuator and the clips but it gets hung up, any ideas?
@@opinatudo4292 you gotta get an oem one off of a parts car or the junkyard, that’s how I fixed mine, make sure it’s a clean regulator, no bends or broken pieces, and the motor might be different depending on the year but you can switch it out easily
Thank you for this video, i think I made the window "out of axis" by adding air deflector the glass had too much pressure and went out of its rail, I tried to plug back in on the two metallic rails but when I lift up the window we see that the glass doesn't go straight upwards but tend to go forward into the exterior rear-view mirror, I think if I try to continue to lift the window it would just explode by pressure lol ! What I noticed is that a black magnet with a small rail guidance fall but I don't know where it should be pluggued ( i think on the front part but it's nearly impossible to reach..) and when the window lift up the joint is quite pushed by the window i'm not sure how to handle this without breaking completly the glass, thanks ! my guess would be to try to have the glass on the two vertical rails but i only succeed in putting on the one near to the outside but not the one near the mirror
Hello. I have the same kind of problem but 1 of those rails that the new slider goes to is off the glass should it be attached to the glass because it keeps coming off?
