You can acquire them by starting your own RU-vid channel, convincing Gen Zeroes that they should use your affiliate links to apply for credit cards they can't afford and don't need, and then cash in! Oh wait..
Also, as a sole proprietor, you can apply for the blue business plus. You get a spending threshold a calendar year of $50,000 at 2x per dollar in MR points. You can use it to cover 1x or other categories like at Wal-Mart super centers and Target and when you exhaust the EveryDay card grocery cap too, you can use that card to cover groceries if you can't justify the Gold card for the rest of the calendar year. I do this. Also, if you live in a major city, you can get the Green card to cover tolls, taxis and when on vacation like on a cruise at 3x and for dining if again you can't justify Gold like me.
So timely I just got approved for the Amex Gold today my first Amex card! Thanks for the info been using Rakuten for a while now as well. I will now be able to convert it over to MR points! Whoo! Hey Ben, when is the cabin gonna be completed?
Got somewhat lucky and the homepage of Amex offer me 170k biz plat, always always look. There’s even targeted offers of 200k+ so don’t stop looking. Even try calling!
Are Amex pts generally good for international only? Since it's mostly flights, I don't see economy being a good use and I'm sitting on like 700k. I need to burn them somehow!
The best use is to transfer them. Even domestic economy you can get really good redemptions. Also no need to burn them. They don't tend to go down in value too much.
@@jacksonmiller8581 really? for domestic it has generally been 1:1 so I just pay cash rates almost all the time so ive never used a MR point in 4 years =\
Orrrrrrrrr you could start your own RU-vid channel, convince Gen Zeroes that they should use your affiliate links to apply for credit cards they can't afford and don't need, and then cash in! Oh wait...
Hey Ben, please talk about Apple Pay using the Amex in restaurant. I was told by a Amex Rep that I did get my restaurant points using my gold business amex because it showed on my statement has “Apple Pay” and they/Amex can’t tell if it was a restaurant. Just because I didn’t have the restaurant physically run my car I was denied points?
@@mannyfestoINS I had the card for 8 months, then decided to downgrade to the green card given the annual fee & that I will be a freshman in college in the fall, I now understand that you must keep the card for 1 year before downgrading
Try and apply for it, and if you don’t get the pop up, you will get the bonus. The pop up appears before they do a hard credit pull, so you can abort if the pop up appears
Are different Amex cards targeted for different Amex offers? I have the Amex Hilton surpass and I haven’t ever seen these Amex offers for mgm or similar properties. Are they targeted for specific cards or how does that work?
yes, different cards, and also different members get different offers too, it is sometimes luck of the draw what you get, but if you activate all your offers, your chance of getting good ones added after that increases
Hi Ben, do you think you could make a video about attending tennis grand slams? For example, attending the French Open from the U.S. with points? I haven't seen any examples online. Thanks!
Yes, Lacoste socks, beautiful. But those are cheap for me now, I usually buy $65 socks. But i have discovered that expensive socks really do last a lot longer, so it isnt so much money in the long run
Interesting because 1,000,000 points is worth two business or 1st class trips if you redeem in the worst way. And you have to have big spend to get that much points.
