Great video and cool to also see someone in this space from Tampa Bay! AA miles do have some really good value, but damn they made it hard to get basic status, took several flights, even with one being round-trip from Tampa to Auckland/Sydney wasn't enough 😩
You can pretty much get Gold status if you have the AA Citi Executive card..cheaper than spending your way to Gold status for sure. Are you a Tampa native?

This was a great summary video. I just saw that AAdvantage is changing their travel policy where you can only earn miles and loyalty points when you book with certain travel agencies. Great if you book your own travel, but puts a real dent on corporate travel. Am i misreading this new policy? What are your thoughts?
Thanks for watching! I think it will limit earning for basic economy tickets, but we’ll see what they release in April. AA miles continue to get more valuable - can’t say the same for Delta and United.
I’m in the fence on getting the advantage card even though I don’t really fly with American Airlines. Their redemption is so good when booking with miles for instance if I book with miles on Hawaiian it cost 130k miles or 65k miles (when they have promotions) on international flights whereas if I book it through American Airlines it only cost 52k miles and same cash tax.
Yea even if you don’t fly with AA often, you can use eshopping and AA hotels to earn a pretty good chunk of miles to hit a sign up bonus and continue to earn miles. I get tremendous value for redemptions also

I’m so lost I just booked a flight but I’m not sure if I’m suppose to use advantage number or just my card to get the perks? Clarifying question: Let's say you have the Citi AAdvantage Executive Credit Card and purchase a flight using that card, you get 4x miles on the purchase. Does that also mean you get 4x Loyalty Points? I've heard conflicting answers online and it makes a huge difference in deciding whether or not the card is worth it.
Appreciate the question. For every eligible mile you earn, you’ll also earn a LP, regardless of the card. So for a flight, 4x miles would mean 4x lp’s. Keep in mind you earn more miles/LP’s based on your level of status. On top of that, you earn 1 loyalty point per dollar spent on the card, plus the lp bonuses for hitting 50k and 90k lp’s. Also additional 5x+ for AAdvantage hotels for having the credit card.
10X on hotel is fantastic but I am conflicted booking Hilton via AA portal bc I am Gold member at Hilton and I think I lose my benefits by booking via AA portal? Or is that a way to double dipping earn pts at Hilton and earn points with AA 😂
I don’t think you can double dip. I hear of people calling to leverage their status or mentioning it upon check in, but if I’m booking a nice Marriott , I’m going thru Marriott to get my status
@@beaunoonan510 yeah I don’t think double dipping is possible but at they could accommodate the free breakfast or dinning credit I have as a Gold member benefits - is this reasonable?
