Lesson: How to earn team loyalty. 1.) Don't be afraid to lose People. 2.) Be true to your cause. 3.) Leaders don't like to have their butts kissed. Be real with them, but don't kiss their butts. Try to fall somewhere in the middle. 4.)Don't do everything for them. 5.) They need to see you in the game. 6.) Loyalty gets stronger during times of friction. The process of making a hotdog is ugly, but the finished product is perfect. 7.) Talking behind your leader's back. Talk POSITIVELY behind people's backs. 8.) Create an environment where everyone calls each other out. This ties in with #1. People don't like being called out, but it has to be done. It will help them to not repeat the same mistake. Loosing people is just a fact so don't be discouraged, you have to go through people until you find someone who fits you, work from your cause, be honest and upfront with other people, don't do everything let others take a project and make it their own, be actively in the game to lead by example, confrontation builds connection and growth, talk good about other people even when they're not around, call other people out on mistakes

Lower level egos want respect, they will take coaching and want to learn. High level egos are above it all, not willing to learn or start from the bottom. It's a waste of time to work with high level ego. I need coaching on RU-vid. I have no idea how "conversations work" I am willing to learn.

Google isn't losing engineers because they have great vision and passion about what they do. You golf score being par means you're probably an aristocrat and spending too much time on the golf course instead of with your team or office leading by example. Too much golf game , not enough business game. The two types of egos are a lower ego, bring a coach able and eager person willing to learn and take the tools and run with them.
