How to Easily Create a Multi-Language Website in Webflow

So you may be building a Webflow website for a business that requires that the content be available in 2 or more languages.
At first thought, this sounds tricky and daunting, however, it's actually quite simple.
There are two ways of going about this. The first method I'll be showing you is for smaller websites, while the second method is fantastic for websites of any size.

Hi! Im a bit confused with the billing part. If I use a multiple plugins (for example weglot and elfsight) how do I manage? I feel like it's getting pricey for the client. I hope Im clear enough.

How can you control what version of the website is loaded if you choose method 1? Is there any way to load the correct language based on the users browser settings?

Hey For the 2nd method if you have a website in arabic where the text and content is positioned to the right . So the problem when you use weglot to translate to english you should position the text to the right which cannot be done so any ideas on how to solve this problem. Thanks

A downside of Weglot is that as soon as the client changes just one word in a copy text in Webflow, the whole text block is immediately translated again automatically. Even if you have already invested a lot of time in a manual translation, Weglot overwrites this text again. I have already written to the support but so far there is no solution.

I suppose that if the client changes a word in, let’s say English, then he or she will change the translation to Russian? I mean makes sense, no? Or I don’t get something?

@@georgy.design As soon as even one spelling mistake is corrected, the whole text is translated again automatically. And there is often the case that you try a few copies in one language because of SEO and then you don't want to have to rewrite the English translation again and again just because the automatic translation has overwritten everything again.

@Jonas Have they comeback to you with this issue? I am trying to transition from Wix to Webflow and it's pretty strightforward with Wix, doesn't automatically translate as you say after every correction, but i can see why you might want to stick to Webflow.

@@jonasarleth Hi Jonas, is this still happening now? It's bad enough that URL slug translation is only available in WeGlot's higher pricing tiers. But this issue you've mentioned is a complete deal-breaker.

How do you show relevant CMS Collection Page fields depending on selected Language? I can only do conditional visibility with "options" from the CMS field themselves.

Very late reply but someone else might be looking for an answer. Had to do a dual language site and could not figure out an easy way to do both languages in the same Collection since I needed a Collection Template Page for both languages! Just create 2 collections after having exported one and importing it to match the fields and then copy paste the translations in... if anyone has a better approach I'd love to know it

I have a question, I have tried to do what you explain at the beginning of the video, but; when I create the folder "English" and moving the duplicate pages, I get this message: "Moving this item will update its URL and cause the old URL to return a 404 page unless you set up a 301 redirect in your project settings". And honestly, I don't know what it means. I'm afraid of losing information or strange things happening. And on the other hand, where do you recommend putting the detail/bottom of the change language, at the top of the navigation bar, or in the footer. Thanks for your time! *I made my portfolio in Spanish, and I would like to have it in English too.

Does anyone know how to have two different menus? We need a menu per each language, if i have a symbol it will not work because if I change an English word for a Spanish word it will be affect the entire menu. So, I need two different menus, anyone can help us?

The problem with the second solution is that you have the same directions for different languages. Say someone wants to sign up for your newsletter, they will be signed up in the same group while you actually want them in different groups (because they use different languages. The easiest way I see is to use a child theme manually. Translation via DeepL.

With solution #1 how would this look with the linking? Say I am on page "About me" and decide to switch to the other language on my website, will it take me to the version of that page in the other language? It seems unlikely, since you need the slug: "/en/aboutme". Maybe I'm coming at it from the wrong perspective.
