Not a fan of those L3 simulators as I've seen better graphics on an 1980's Atari so it makes me sicker than a dog, but I will say that it would be great for teaching or learning good manual techniques.

What if I want to upgrade CLASS B TO CLASS A? I have no restrictions on my B other than hazmat and trailer would it require me to take the class A test in a manual truck if I already did that for the B?

Does Driving Academy offer specific training/testing on manual transmissions with a bobtail for those with a CDL A looking to remove their automatic restriction? Your website seems to only reference training covering the full CDL program.

Hey Christopher! Your new permit should NOT invalidate your current CDL if you are getting a restriction taken off.

@@CDLDrivingAcademyI’m currently driving a truck, if I retake the test again and get the CDL permit, I would have to wait 2 weeks until I do manual road test. Would I be able to drive a truck for those two weeks?

I have manual and air brake restrictions on my CDL, would I have to take all three portions again? I passed the knowledge portion for air brakes, just didn’t take the road portion with air brakes or manual. I am in Texas.

Most likely if you're having an air brake restriction removed you'll have to go back through the pretrip portion as well unfortunately. The reason being that you have to identify parts of the air system during your pretrip inspection.

I have CDl A class, with passenger endorsement with restriction N2, which means less than 8 passengers. Do you know how to remove that restriction and be able to drive city buses. (NY)

Hey Chris - yes, you can! If you have a CDL class A already, you can take the CDL road test in a manual bobtail for your road test if you are simply trying to get an auto restriction off your license
