Basically you need to accomplish 3 Things before the Drought, Get a Dam so that you don't lose all your water. Establish a food source other than Berries, and get a water pump to supply water to your beavers. Once you've done those you can start doing other stuff like getting Housing and more storage. I was more just trying to establish how to get the basics so you can get through the first drought without losing any beavers. Since my first time playing I went through the drought and ran out of water because I didn't have a dam so I was using only what I had stored in small water towers and it didn't last.
