I don't get a template option when I get to the 3 dots. Maybe it's an older version? I only get something that says plain text, which I can I can edit, but nothing that says more options, so that I can save the changes.
Hmm I'm on a desktop using gmail.com with Chrome and it still looks the same for me. Which browser are you using? I see what you are saying about plain text mode, but I also have the option for labels and templates. I did find this maybe see if you need to enable the templates! **Enable templates** Open Gmail > See all settings > At the top, click Advanced > In the Templates section, select Enable. Let me know if that works!!
Hmm I see what you mean. It doesn't seem to want to save the updates any longer. I'll have to play around with this later and I'll get back to you. Thank you for letting me know! Saving it as a new template is definitely the fastest way to adjust it at the moment.
Great video, thank you! I have this issue where I click on a template, I get my email signature twice. I see at the end of your video,, that you have that too. Do you have any idea how to avoid that? I tired deleting the signature from the template so that only the preset signature stayed, but it didn't help...
Before you save your template delete your signature from the email. Then the saved copy will not include your signature so when you import the template you no longer have the double signature! Just re-read your comment. Did you overwrite the previous template? I just tried it and as long as I saved by overwriting the initial template saved then it did not import both signatures. Let me know if you can't figure it out and I can film a quick video of what I did!
A quick way you can do this is to put your template in email and then save it as a new template with new name. Let me see if there is a way to edit it specifically. I'll get back to you if I find it.
