How to Edit and Backup Skylanders

I haven't played Skylanders in years but I'm glad this was reccomended to me anyway bc this is super interesting. I have all OG skylanders and all Giants newcomers and I've always wanted to try out the "other" skill path to see what it's like without completley resetting them and if I use these tools correctly I can do just that! I do hope someone manages to update SkyReader someday, though.

I'm not even into Skylanders but this showed up in my recommended page and it intrigued me more than what I came on youtube to watch

Finally somebody did this, this is by far the easiest way to earn money yet nobody ever does this for some reason, you can even max out the stats for your skylanders by rigging the heroic challenge stuff

This looks really useful, thanks for sharing. Seeing as it corrupts Senseis I'll just grind for coins with them the intended way. However, I will give my blast zone, wash buckler and stealth elf as many coins as they need to max out upgrades. When downloading Skyreader my computer warned me that it isn't commonly downloaded but I'm sure it's fine. In all honesty, I'm more afraid of malware than corrupting Skylanders.

Do you know if any of this is possible with the emulated skylander files from rpcs3? Given that it doesn't use a physical portal, I would imagine there would be issues unless the programs have the potential to directly select Skylander files, but I'm not familiar with the programs yet as I am intimidated by starting to use dolphin. On a side note, the editing for this video was fun, and you got the information across very well without any miscommunication as far as I can tell. Nice work, and thank you for the content!

Maybe I should give these programs a try. If I ever get to replay Swap Force, I could give my skylanders from Spyro's Adventure heroic challenges using the programs. It's really nice to learn about I can just use the 3DS version of Spyro's Adventure to fix my figures if they get corrupted by the technical issues.

How did you get Spyro's Adventure in your computer (saw it when you were zooming in on Skyreader)? Also if you can, can you make a video on this?

So for traps dont try it, it breaks your trap so you gotta reset it on giant or use the skylander gui and reset it from there

I have a question. Can I turn a water trap into a light or dark trap using an editor? I have been looking for tutorials to do that for ages but can't find anything like that!

When editing skylanders to the SkyReader tool, make sure it already has experience points and money so when the reader reads the toy, all squares should be green. Don't edit a blank/unused resetted skylander because you'll get red squares on some or most of the 10 squares. Just kill a few monsters and break open a few chests to get your starter XP & coins.

Old video and goofy question, but: If you were to put a Sensei on a NFC card, and edit it with Skyreader, would the NFC card get permanently bricked?

Guys just a reminder if u break a sensei you can try to use in the wii version of giants the "Reset Broken Toys" option it may work at least to reset crystals it works

So, the GUI program works to make NFC cards, right? How do you make an NFC card of a swap force character that isn't just the bottom/top?

I came across this video because I was trying to see if I could copy one of my Skylanders onto another one due to the fact that the original one was chewed up by my dog. I see you can edit Skylanders and save them, but you can't copy one Skylander's stats onto another one. Is there something I can do to achieve this? I know I could just manually copy down the same stats that are on the original one, but some of the exact details are off.

The fact that you called (2^32 - 1) a code amuses me. To explain, 4.294.967.295 is the highest number you can write if you use 32 binary digits. Binary digits can only be 0 or 1. in this case, I assume that each digit acts like a switch. that switch is either set to "this challenge has been completed by this skylander" or "this challenge has not been completed by this skylander", which is represented by a 1 or 0 respectively. So presumably, there are 32 challenges (correct in at least the first game (not counting special variants)), and each digit refers to a different challenge. I feel like I'm repeating myself, but I don't know if that's cause I am or if I'm just so used to thinking about it in this way. edit: You said there are 18 additional challenges in giants. the additional challenges are probably elsewhere in the newer skylanders's data to be backwards-compatible, and regardless, the editer can probably only write 1 word to that memory slot. but if both of those assumptions are wrong, inputting 1125899906842623 (2^(32 + 18) - 1) should make every challenge completed. The first assumption could be wrong if they just have empty space for a while after the first 32 bits or if they use labels. idk.

Do you know if there is a way to transfer progress from one figure to an other? I played with someone else on the same hot head, now i have my own and i would like to continu where i left off with the other figure. I tried making a back up in the GUI tool en writing it with the new figure, but that doesn't work(Writing error)

Finally now instead of having too grind out money for upgrades I can just buttons and upgrade my skylander… this is a historic day

Is there a certain limit to the coins or does it just go on infinitely/ have an integer overflow

I corrupted Jingle Bell Chompy Mage and Bowser and I put them on Imaginators on Switch and it showed the option to uncorrupt them

I know this video is somewhat old, but Skylanders GUI Tool says it needs a key-code to access its features, which I don't quite understand, nor do I know how to figure out said key. Do you know what's up with that?

Is it only my figure or does the program just not like springtime trigger happy I changed some things on mine and when i put it on the portal it just does that "there is a problem with a toy on the portal" error The only way to fix it was to use the Giants wii "reset broken toys" button

also can you edit what quests you have done with the skylanders on the skyreader?

You don’t actually have to go into story to reset in giants You can just put them on the menu
