I honestly have no idea how to feel about Dive Clops’ prototype design. I’m glad he turned out to be Eye Brawl’s twin brother in the end,but I also love the idea of a fish piloting an atmospheric suit way too much-
The original Dive Clops design looks more like it would be a Tech Element Villain, it’s much less cute than the final design and looks much less like a Water Element.
I feel a reason they scraped these was because they weren’t child friendly. I can sorta agree on that. But to be honest I really wish they went with those different poses
my guess for why a lot of the final figures are in more neutral poses is so that they can be played with better. the less specific the action in the pose is, the easier it is for your imagination to interpret your own actions onto it.
Makes sense that High Volt was originally light case if look at his design, he looks like a lightbulb covered in armor. Its easiest to see it when he does his shield spark thing cause his limbs aren't connected I don't think
I don’t know if anyone noticed but the Camo prototype appeared in the original cinematic trailer on the right of Slam Bam when they were all fighting Kaos’ army. He also appeared on the left of Wrecking Ball when they had just been blasted to Earth.
Notice how that Nightfall kinda looks like a magic element? And you already mentioned how Splat was originally going to be a Dark element. My theory is that they were swapped during development: Splat was going to be the Dark Supercharger and Nightfall was a magic element. They both use sea vehicles. They might have been swapped because they were both going into the directions of different elements, Nightfall dark and Splat magic. And before you argue with the point of “Nightfall is a dark name!”, keep in mind that Splat’s name was Oil pan.
Splat was originally dark and her name was Oil Pan. Also i believe Storm Blade was magic but then some little girl play tester said that she shouldnt be a colorful Peacock because she's a girl so they changed her.
3:00 look at how complex that design is, they probably went with a different design just because that one is so uncharacteristically complex for skylanders.
3:19 that must’ve been pretty early in development for him, I remember seeing some concept art of him being the Undead Giant as a larger version of Chop Chop, he had a shield and everything!
very fascinating video right here. Strata and Clutch aren't actually names of scrapped levels they were just the names off the art books. Yes Several Superchargers characters constantly changed elements lol and that Superchargers level looked sick bro. so close to 700subs... :)
At 1:56, Hugo was never actually meant to be a Skylander. If you look at some images of the cabinets of the figure prototypes you’ll see a bunch of other characters that have figures but were obviously never meant to be actual Skylanders.
For bouncer I like his prototype design more in general but I feel like his final design fits better as an actual Skylander character it would feel weird Playing as a character that looks more like it should be one of the enemies or it just shouldn't be in the game at all so overall bouncer fits the overall style a little bit better in The final design
Fun fact, chopper was supposed to be the original tech giant. But they changed it because they couldn’t fit his body style on a figure that size, and they couldn’t give him super strength they were comfortable with do to his tiny arms, so they scape his big form and made him a normal skylander.
well I think it might be possible to maybe try to create a skylanders decompilation project and maybe make take a look at the unused data that's left behind in all of the versions of the skylanders games while doing some "datamining" and having a look at the code that was left behind and maybe do some "datamining" into some of these "old servers" and "old computers" that are basically containing the rest of the unused code that went completely unused is contained in the business buildings and the buildings that make the "skylanders" video games basically because once this code is gathered it can basically should be decompiled into how their originally supposed to look like then basically send out the "skylanders" "gigaleaks" part by part then create the actual "skylanders pc port collection" then add shove the "skylanders pc port collection" into the "switch" no matter what because the "modified unity engine" combined with a "heavily modified super mario 64 pc port engine" with auto adjusting graphics along with a auto adjusting anti-lag counter measure and a auto adjusting framerate and add "skylanders: spyro's kingdom" and "skylanders kingdom" to the "skylanders pc port collection" along with a "skylanders academy" video game as well which should be enough to run on the "switch" then basically add a "certain code" that prevents it from being taken down from the "e-shop" no matter what as well it should also be able to prevent the "switch" from being "bricked" no matter what as well and it should also hide itself if "nintendo" tries anything to it because it would automatically just be deleted from "nintendo's" view basically ok.
Im glad they went with ninjini cause it makes more sense though it woulda been nice to have two giants per element so we can get more designs and ad bouncers original war machine design as its own character if they decide to make a new game or remake
@@nietaiden4436 there's actually been quite a few, like the red dragon, a sniper troll, a different trap team bird villain, VVind up, and heartbreaker buckshot and tarclopse of course
I feel like they should have released these prototypes with their respective games for about 3 months and stopped selling these (what I'll call) Legacy Skylanders. Would have their own movesets, stats, etc, that would be somewhat separate from the modern/refined ones we got now. Just me tho.
I feel kinda disappointed that most of the early designs of the Skylanders and levels have not been finalized/used at all. Some of their cool, yet weird, original looks appeal to me! I mean, for a video game franchise I still love, why did Activision keep doing this?
The Smash-Hit prototypes could easily become their own Skylanders as they actually look like legitimate good designs Nightfall's prototypes were also good, and I can see great potential in the second Bouncer prototype & the enemy shown in Strata has great potential aswell and could even share the name of the scrapped level as a tribute.
