"How to edit RAW files with GIMP... and darktable" except it do not show how to use gimp together with darktable... Slightly "confused," well at least it taught me that I can customize the tools panel. Currently a heavy user of just using the search function for selecting tools.

I have gimp and now that I've figured out how to used it for doing my milky way images including finally working out how to copy 1 layer mask to the next below so I'm not needing to physically rub out stars on each foreground layer image, i can now try darktable for editing of the sky and foreground images instead of my current editing program of the last 4 years which is Canon DPP4. Then stack the sky like I normally do in sequator, before sending it and any foreground images to gimp to finish off. Next video i will watch is how to edit with darktable, which is in the queue

I have a question about this. I shoot a lot of photos with my smartphone and edit them on my computer. They are not raw, so would Darktable still be a better editor than Gimp, or would they do the same thing?

Lightroom is for sure an alternative to Darkroom. Just my experience here, but all the pros I know (i know 7 of them) in the St. Louis area use Darktable.

"darktable works seamlessly with GIMP." That#s another example of utter bullshit from this channel. Why don't you explain, in detail, how to make this seamless connection, since it is so easy?
