Thank you, Michelle! My tech savvy daughter was filming, editing and exporting all my videos for me last spring during our family shelter at home time. I was so thrilled for so many reasons to have her here. Alas, she has so patiently tried to show me what you have so beautifully demonstrated in your video. Now I have a recording I can watch over and over. I can't thank you enough. Now that my daughter has returned to where she normally lives, she'll be relieved I have some back up!

Thank you!! Another shortcut to splice a clip is to click where you want it to start and then hit i and then move cursor where you want to end and hit o. Then you can delete or move that clip. Does the same thing you showed, just another option. Have a great school year everyone.

I have learned a lot from your videos over the past two years. I make videos for my online classes in college (English). I just wanted to mention to your current viewers of this video that another outstanding video editing program is DaVinci Resolve; it's available completely for free and rivals the functionality of the Adobe products, but it's free. I am not affiliated with this program or anything like that. It just seems that so many people still don't know about Resolve. I learned to edit using iMovie and switched to Resolve a few months ago. It's a wonderful program with full professional functionality!

You are truly amazing Michelle. You are not possessive over any of your content or resources. Everything that you do and create as a teacher, you share with us. You literally showed us all how to film and edit videos- something that you do as a hobby and job- so we can do it ourselves. You show us how to create slides and activities that you do for our students- and ask for nothing in return. It just shows that you put all students first, not just your own, and that all teachers should support each other. Thank you so much ❤️

I have a PC instead but I think I am going to try editing my instructional videos for students on my iPad just so I can use the iMovie app (you make it seem very easy to use!). For Windows, the new version of an editor is just called Video Editor or you could use PowerPoint recording toolbar:)

Adding captions would make this video accessible to everyone. Even the autocaptions (autocraptions) are disabled on your video. (Would love to share it! It's a great resource.)

I use iMovie for any editing but Davinci Resolve is a free software you can download online and it is pretty user friendly like iMovie

Oh boy...I'm totally overwhelmed now. I appreciate your posting this and it's now clear to me that I have a LOT to learn in a very short period of time!! I'm sure I can learn how. I just hope I have the time. I have a quick question though. Where you you store your video clips so you can get to them. I don't think I would have the space on my computer for video clips for the whole year. Our distict uses Google drive, which is where my videos are stored now, but in iMovie, I don't see a way to access my Google drive. How do I get them into i Movie from Google drive? Thank you so much though! It's a great place to start, for sure!! You are THE BEST! Honestly, I would never have survived last spring without you!! ✨
