You asked me to style an outfit using a cheap dress and elevate it to make it look more expensive. #letsgetdressed #grwm #ootd #fashion #getreadywithme #shorts
You mean you don't? I also name decorations (vases, figurines etc.) and gadgets (like sterilizer, dehumidifier, el. radiators, robotic vaccum cleaner etc.) :)
I’m gonna do it right now… my Yellow sip up hoodie that was once my father’s is…Jeffrey now. The first name that came to mind is the one I’ll stick with, feels genuine 😂❤
I like how this is a realistic transformation. Like just add a petticoat and so.e accessories and you're good. Rather than let's tear it apart at the seams and make it an entirely different outfit.
Ikr! Not all of us picked up our mother's perfect sewing skills 😂 I'll look for hem glue to use anywhere I can before pulling a needle out & even then you can imagine it looks like something Frankenstein sewed 😂
I wear a skirt slip under all my dresses that are not lined. It lends a nice fullness and makes me feel more secure in the clothing. Also takes care of the see-through issue. Loved your energy!
Oh my goodness. I am so far from being a fashionista and I have no idea why the YT algorithm sent you to me; BUT, I cannot get enough of you and your videos. You are beyond adorable!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I got here cause I was doing research on medieval clothes... Than I landed on chanel where lady was making medieval styled dress from vintage curtains... And than I found this channel... Xd and I love it
This made me LOL. Over 30 years ago and a newly arrived immigrant, i was invited to a relative’s summer wedding. Short on cash, I found a dress on the $10 rack at Sears. Did pretty much what she did except my hair was up in a french roll. Practically turned heads that day. Still have the dress hanging at the back of the closet and earrings. Kept it to remind me of all the compliments I received that day on just $10. My ‘cheap as chips’ moment.
@@ShelbySteele23 Yes, for the style. The bodice was a square cut and body fitting (just enough cleavage showing) which flowed into a full aline to knee with 2inch straps resting on the shoulders and cris crossed in the back. Zipper on side but you had to get into the dress head first. The squared bodice is similar to ones worn by Marilyn Monroe and Princess Diana. It was in navy blue with while polka dots, not so fashionable now. If you can picture the brown and white polka dot dress worn by JuliaRoberts in Pretty Woman but navy instead. Can’t seem to part with it although it no longer fits.
Holy shit in all of my years of sewing. I never thought to do that. She literally just solved the I'm too poor to buy expensive clothes and fabric problem. I stay bowing down to this channel.
@@AG-nn8lpa slip is essentially an undergown, they’re not typically flared and are intended to go under dresses and not be seen. A petticoat is for specifically under the skirt portion of a dress (or skirt) and it adds volume to the skirt. They are made with the fact that they will be visible in mind (when shorter). They’re two very different clothing items
Being a senior citizen I'm always amazed how many women don't wear slips or petticoats under their dresses. Proper undergarments can transform clothes.
My mother tries to get me to wear them but (no offense) they make me feel too mature.. especially since the style now is kind of 'put on a slip dress and throw a leather jacket over it'
girl your delivery is SO great. i don't really wear super fem stuff like that but the pacing and funny little things you do and how you say them keep me coming back. you're killin' it.
A petticoat is great for those dresses that are so transparent that you can't wear them and still look nice. People should admire how you look pretty in the dress instead of how much they can see your underwear and your legs. Petticoats always.
@@HermioneCortez You notice Andrea's petticoat is trimmed in lace that extends below the dresses hem. I would much prefer a petticoat to a slip. Additionally, petticoats provide shape and an ease of movement to the dress.
This is why for Indian ladies petticoat is an essential clothing article since ancient times. The traditional saree material is thin, petticoat elevates the look. I love ur dress btw! I wanna get one too, the colors is lovely ❤❤❤
@@ramblinrose8 slips are everywhere but people don't care we just want to be comfortable. You couldn't pay me to wear extra layers in Oklahoma the humidity literally choked out rocky balboa. He stopped filming because they couldn't handle our humidity
I came across her last night, ever since have been hooked :) she is cute, has cool style, maybe all of it ain’t for me, but still love her quirky self. She is funny and amazing. My new fav girl, andrea :) sometimes she looks like an animated gothic character hehe
“Cheap as Chips” is a new phrase I will definitely be using 😂 I just recently discovered your videos & I just love the way you can elevate a simple look to make it look not “cheap as chips”! 🥰 Thank you for being you!
As a person in England right now, chips (fries not crisps in a bag) are not as cheap as they used to be and it makes me very sad because they're my favourite
Tahani would have an expensive version of this dress and probably wouldn’t wear her hair up, she’d also likely call out someone wearing the cheap version of the dress for wearing a knockoff of her dress 😂
Amazing how such a simple thing can transform an outfit. Bettina is wonderful and I love the quick 'but' shot! Completely obsessed with your videos, please keep it up 😘
Love this! Love that you have done it with existing accessories that are readily available rather than get the sewing machine out. Would love to see more transformations like this (as someone who has a number of cheap items that desperately need to be elevated!)
Never stopped even had a friend who is a tailor make me lace and eyelet full and half slips in 3 lengths. Camisoles and full slips. Foundation garments elevation every clothes price range. And a collection of textured tights.
Yes it might be a good idea but it doesn’t really do anything all that special for this dress. I like the way it moves better before. More flowing. But the lace the bottom could be cute (although doesn’t really truly match the style of the dress)
Yes, that's why this video is specially informative for people with different body shapes. The thing about expensive clothes is how they are well tailored to fit the person and hug them in specific places. A petticoat will not only improve the way the dress moves, it will give you a more hourglass shape, which is considered flattering
I'd love to see more of this. How to make inexpensive clothes look more elevated. Or how to make dated clothes look more modern. (It helps us thrift/vintage shoppers)
As a fat person I can assure you that is not true. What is important when you are a bigger person is adding structure and understanding your shape. I have a natural hour glass shape so for me a cut belt and layering makes a world of difference. I have friends that have big hips but no titties so they make a point of adding interest like ruffled tops to fill out dresses when they are baggy up there. It's all about accessorizing.
Your dress naming skill is on another level... I accidentally bumped to your channel... And got addicted to your pro dress styling tips, your running commentary and dress naming skills is rib trickling😂😂.. More power to you girl ❤...
Honestly, I love getting dresses with wacky patterns and colors cause I always put a black 'crop' top turtle neck sweater with cap sleeves. It always makes them look elegant and high fashion and lets me pair it with my black heels.
Okay Belinda seriously needs to be in a James Bond movie about infiltrating a design House like Dior and Chanel and forcibly instructing the world on how to dress well!
This channel is perfect for me. Someone basically explaining fashion to me (because I understand 0%), adding a bit of femininity and comedy to boot. Subscribed.
The colors are gorgeous and the petticoat adds so much! The accessories were perfect too and there's something about the ponytail that wrapped it all up in a neat and pretty bow ❤
