man you are a life saver, every single known software wanted registration, money or only supported arm windows version. and I just wanted to run a light simple exe.
I'm seeing x86 in the title but it's an x64 install shown in the video. I tried using an x86 version of Windows 7 but it's not booting the install ISO (I'm on an M2 Mac). The UTM web site shows x64 Windows 7 and x64 Windows XP but not x86 versions of either. Is 32bit Windows just not supported in UTM? I have an old app that only plays nice on 32bit Windows. Thank you

I want to use x86_64 Rocky Linux 9 via UTM. Shall I be able to do that? Like for example, first i can get the OS like ubuntu from gallery and put a rocky linux iso file as a DVD what do you thing ?
Still won’t run lots of x86 programs, I use lots of cad and rendering programs and can’t get any of them to run without Roseta, which I can’t get to work

Sorry for the late reply. Visual Studio community runs fine with UTM. However, VS hasn't been updated fully updated to run with arm yet so its not the best experience. If you need it for small projects or to use here or there it will work alright. But if you are going to be using it often I would recommend an intel/amd based system or maybe trying a more optimized emulator with 3d acceleration such as parallels.

When I run virtual machine it is taking me straight into UEFI shell. Please help me out... Thank you in advance ...
I think you should look for Windows for ARM. Let the Windows to convert from x86 to ARM its own operations, then convert from Windows ARM to Apple ARM, which is much faster. We can see even modern games running in Parallels this way. Now MS is taking much more care about x86 to ARM conversion, as long as MS sells Surface with ARM chipset, this affects them directly, so it is expected (and announced) a full emulation by Windows itself.
You should be able to set an install location or change the vm directory to an external drive. And if you install windows then yes any app will work. However some 3d apps may not perform the best due to UTMs lack of 3d acceleration.
