How To Enable fTPM & Secure Boot - ASUS UEFI BIOS 

Thank you for posting this and walking us through this. I was pulling my hair out before finding this and was able to breeze through things following your instructions. I really do appreciate your taking the time to make this video!

You're a life savior my friend. I bought a used ASUS Crosshair VIII Formula and for some reason the person I bought it from had Launch CSM Enabled. Your video is the only one that covered that setting in the ASUS bios and I'd spent the last 11 hours trying to get Windows 11 to load onto my new build. This is a full custom loop PC with all EK blocks and parts except fittings and tubing in an O11-XL ROG. All told I probably have $2k wrapped up in this build and it took me the better part of two years to get all the parts. This is not my first build by any stretch but it is a newer one with a lot of features I've never seen like the Launch CSM function. I know I'm very late to the party here but I just had to comment and thank you so much for this video. I've left a like and subscribed before I've even checked if you're still active on the channel as you've more than earned my gratitude. Thank you again for this amazingly simple video that instantly fixed my issues with my fresh install of Windows 11 by changing that one option. I've spent all day watching people use regedit or other means and honestly didn't want to go that route. I did try and get an ISO using Rufus but this rigs so old I couldn't get it or Microsofts own ISO creator to work just constant error messages. I actually splurged and bought an official Win 11 USB for this build thinking that would mean no issues, yeesh was I wrong. That's a lot of words to just say thank you but man you deserve it for remembering the simple rule of KISS, (keep it simple stupid). You’re a lifesaver! Just got a new PC build and it let me download Windows 11 completely fine. When I went to boot my PC the next day it took me back to the Windows install page before booting. When I clicked “I don’t have a product key” to skip the option since I already downloaded Windows and entered my product key it said my device didn’t meet the requirements… although I just downloaded it yesterday without issue. Once I made the changes in my BIOS, everything began booting up like normal 🙏🏾

Thanks, my settings were a little different, I think because I recently updated my BIOS firmware, but it was easy enough to follow. I found from another video how to enable GPT but he was using an HP with a different BIOS so I then searched to find your video. Thanks for the great video, so glad you knew what "should" be there, that helped a lot. I though, shit I hope he knows what it "should" look like just as you mentioned it.

Hi i want to add some important info, yes that method is work for installing Windows 11 (after do that step windows will allow you to upgrade to windows 11). But the problem is after you upgraded to Windows 11 in some user, some app like Valorant cant work, it still show you to turn secure boot even in bios is already enable. For who seek the answer i,ve just find how to do it. N.B. in my case im using ASUS ROG Motherboard. 1. check your booting drive MBR or GPT. If MBR convert first to GPT. (Check via, press windows - computer management - disk management - right click on the disk - properties -device - "check the format either MBR ot GPT" 2. if already GPT. go to Bios again, go to CSM Compability - then choose enable, the other option all choose to UEFI Only. 3. after that back and click Secure boot, change os type to "Windows UEFI Only" and then change custom to standard. DONE, Enjoy valorant. this problem happen in some user and im encounter this too. this happened because after upgrade to windows 11, dont know why the CSM on Bios still legacy and uefi and somehow when booting windows will choose the legacy and it cant triggered secure boot to On. Secure Boot cant work in Legacy Windows, it will trigger to on with GPT Boot Drive and UEFI only Boot. Hope it help you guys if had the same problem like me.

Hi! when I switch my “Launch CSM” option from enabled to disabled, my PC gets stuck in BIOS whenever I turn on/restart or try to exit BIOS. When I looked up how to get my PC to stop being stuck in BIOS, it said to switch “Launch CSM” back to the enabled setting. But if it’s on the ‘enabled’ option, my PC health Check app tells me I cant download W11 bc I don’t have secure boot enabled lol. I am stuck in a loop, any info to fix this?

If your Secure Boot is still disable. The select key management and select Instal Default key option. This will enable it.

This might interest people using dualboot with a Unix-like OS: Windows 11 appears to only require fTPM and secureboot enabled during the installation. You can later disable it and windows 11 will work fine and you'll be able to swap install drivers and third-party kernels in your other os.

My launch CSM is enabled but whenever I disable it windows won’t properly boot up and instead puts me in a loop of bios booting up. However my Secure boot is identical to yours but doesn’t display the “ secure boot control” do you have any advice on this ?

I already have all of these settings enabled. I have the exact same processor as you, a RX6800, 2tb SSD, and an up to date bios. However, when using PC checker, all of my requirements including TPMS are met, however secure boot is not met. Is there another Bios setting that I am missing?

Once I have done all of this as in the video, how do I actually boot into safe mode? I’m stuck with a screen that says “Preparing Automatic Repair” and cannot get past that screen. Thanks in advance.

it says for me to get windows 11 all I have left is to be able to support secure boot. how ever you said CSM usually already comes disabled by default, however mines enabled but when i disable it and exit it just boots me backs into bios and I'm stuck here until i enable it again????

After enabling uefi as you shows in the video, my pc just keeps loading to the bios and won't boot up windows. I have to set it back to legacy to boot up windows

so im wanting to turn both off. i just disable security device support and my secure boot should say setup? Should i have boot/csn enabled?

So my settings in the secure boot section on the bios are identical to yours however the os type but in the system information it claims secure boot is off any ideas?

Does this step help with booting into windows my problem is I already have windows 11 downloaded and whenever I start up my computer it boots straight to bios then I have to select my drive with windows on it and manually boot into windows every time

Do I need to update my bios for Windows 11? It seems like you did not need to update your bios.

in my AMD fTPM configuration, i only have "Firmware TPM switch" and "Erase fTPM NV for factory reset", what do i do from here? is there another video I can watch? I got this pc today, maybe it's part of the newer TUF software, but I'm stuck here for now until I know exactly what to do. Firmware fTPM switch: Enable Firmware TPM, Disable Firmware TPM

hey man, i don’t know if you’re still active, but everytime i disable launch CSM, the startup automatically takes me to BIOS instead of having to press f2 or delete. meaning i can’t get into actual windows. anyway around this? great video btw, the TPM part worked

Hi, I'm going to change my CPU, and I'm a little bit worried, that because of TPM is active, when I install new CPU, my Windows won't start. Do I need to disable TPM before the change, or can I retrieve the security code from Windows in order to make sure I don't need to reinstall the whole system?

This video worked perfectly for me a while ago when I first installed windows 11. However I just got an nvme SSD and moved windows to that drive to boot from. But now it's saying that if I disable cpm it can't boot from an nvme? Im pretty sure this isn't normal and wanted to make sure. Any help would be appreciated
