I Just found the problem, The disk will not show as a mounted volume in the list of locations but if you follow the exact steps you will find it mounted under /Volumes and write enables.
My hdd doesn't even show anything inside of it... I don't want to write anything in it but just read the files existing in it. If I do the tutorial from the video, will it work as well? Im glad for any help
Hi Jinu, I was able to write to my external drive using the steps, but when tried to see the copied files, i do not see any files on the hard disk, but the space used up on external drive is almost 250 gb, tried restoring back the config, but that too did not work, please help.
hi Jinu I tried it but after disconnecting the hdd now I am enable to connect it again its showing only in disk utility with low opacity and not mount sign is showing Is there any solution?
Hi, Did all this. It used to work for me in Mojave, But this is not working for me in Big Sur. When I go to volumes, it still stays read only! Please help.
For anyone having problems with their HDD not showing up: Disconnect it from you Mac. Connect it to a Windows or Linux PC and ejected it with it. After this: reconnect it to your mac and it should show up.
Nice video I had use this method on High Sierra on HD partition of 400 GB with my projects, but now I'm disabling because my Mac is stopping and some files are corrupting.... So use this method only on small partition.
I used to be able to use my NTFS on my mac until an upgrade in OS and a few parts. Does anybody know why it used to work perfectly but is only now read only?
@@JinusTechVideos Hello Jinu`s Tech Vídeo. In my case it doesn`t work... after apply de command, the HD don`t appear in the computer... Please, what is the command to remove the operation? Thank you.
Thank you for the great information. But, even after deleting the "LABEL=NAME none ntfs rw,auto, nobrowse" from the fstab file, no files are showing in my hard disk. (both in Mac and PC), Please help me to solve this issue.
@@sajeeralaraabengineering5320 I solved the problem installing Paragon NTFS and repairing the external driver. After that, my ntfs driver is showing and all my files are there! Could you try it? Good luck, buddy 👊🏻
sir I have done this on Mac OS Catalina and when I upgraded my Mac OS to big sur my hard disk is not able to read it . it is getting connected but not accessible. please help me when I try to mount it showing me error 49153
It does not look like my 2nd hard drive is responding to this method. I have 2 volumes that are NTFS on this drive. Jus to be clear, do I replace NAME in the string with these 2 volumes' name, or do I use the entire drive's name instead in one go? BTW, there is a space in the 2 volumes names (a phrase rather than a single word). How do I write their names if they are to be used?
It didn't work on my MacBook, and after adding this command It didn't recognize my hard drive at all. In this case you can just delete the 2nd command save it and it starts detecting the hard drive again. But you'll be back to square 1
