Following the instructions didn’t work. I do have youtube premium, and the right IOS version (15 and higher), but i’m not seeing a picture in picture mode anywhere.

Thank you so much for this video! I signed up for premium and I freaking hated having pip on. Was irritating the hell outta me when I want to listen to RU-vid and search google for example but have that stupid pip that I need to maneuver or move around. Then you accidentally close it out and the video you were listening to stops.. I like the idea of it but they really should make a way to close it out and the video continues playing without having to turn pip off and on in settings constantly. Having to pick between having it up always or not at all just seems stupid. At least it’s not in my way anymore now. Tyvm!

How long and till when do I have to wait for youtube to enable those options? Is it just random or is there like a release date or somthing.

I have no option to enable Picture in Picture on RU-vid and I already had Picture in Picture enabled in setting I don’t see the try new features on my RU-vid settings and I don’t know what to do now.

you can simply open youtube video on the web browser, not app, then make it full screen and press the home button. works well.

Another thing that you can do is use a VPN location for the USA. That can enable Picture in Picture on the mobile app as well.

Anyone who said it’s not working… just follow all the steps, i got error cuz script is not working or something like that, then i wait like 2-3 days 😂😂 when i open youtube, the pip option pop out when i click share button, i dont really know how ios works but yeah, finally i got the pip features. (Using iphone Xr tho)

You didn't Specify the reasoning for the other option on RU-vid Settings .. other that .. the device may have this particular feature

I can't find General in my phone settings-

I have a Motorola phone (Android) and when I went to the settings in RU-vid PiP was greyed out and tapping on it did nothing and when I went to general in settings (on home screen) it didn't show PiP as a setting, only Google assistant stuff so I think the feature is permanently gone forever.

Updated my iPhone and it auto enabled Picture in Picture. Sooooo annoying took me awhile how to figure out how to disable it. I prefer to close RU-vid with one swipe not two, and it’s about impossible to do most things on your phone with a giant floating video smh I’m sure some people like it and for a very few certain instances I can see how it’d be useful but naaaaah fam I’m good! 👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾

I have youtube premium it never let me use it when I clicked in try new features and enabled the PIP but it never worked nobody has a explanation why it doesnt work im on iOS 14.4 which supports Picture in Picture mode and it is turned on in the settings app.

Users in the US will have access to this feature for non-music content on the RU-vid app for iPhones and iPads. meanwhile, the google announced that it will give access to picture-in-picture for both music and non-music content to "all premium members worldwide". For Apple devices, the feature will be available on devices running on iOS 15 and iPadOS 15.
