How to enable "Steam LITE Mode" + Reduce RAM/CPU Usage and Improve Performance for FREE! (2022) 

Edit: Found something that works. See below. Just a FYI, Valve just ended support for -no-browser. It doesn't work anymore and Valve is not interested in offering any alternative, so I guess it's over. Leaving this comment if anyone is looking for an answer as to why it isn't working anymore. Edit: You can tweak around with steam settings to achieve the same thing. Steam -> Settings -> Library Enable low bandwidth mode Enable low performance mode Disable game icons in the left column Disable community content Steam -> Settings -> Interface Select Library as your starting page Also: Turn off the chat if you don't need it Hide the games you are not going to play ever

one thing i dont understand is on the lite mode in the view theres still an option to make steam larger which means ''lite mode'' is the same as having it being opened in small mode??? also opening it in small mode reducing the cpu usage anyways so i mean you should just be fine if u have it on small mode and have it run only in the background without it being displayed.

Hi, bro this trick is unfortunately not working on my PC, whenever I try to apply this in properties, it shows a error that Target box is not valid

it opens the small mode like yours but when i go to large mode it tells me "the steam browser is disabled" and i can't do anything. the store doesn't work, my profile, download page, library. all give out the same error.

Does this make 5gb ram games from Steam work on my 4gb ram laptop?

Nice tip o/, but I don't know why your Steam is using so much resources =p. Mine just keep, like, 0.1% of the cpu (80mb memory, with is not much at all). Even on my brother PC (i7 4790) it has the same behavior.
