I completed the art coat on a 6 chair dining table. Wood not laminate on this one. Turned out really good. i didn't pour though i like messing with the spray technique you showed us. im getting really interesting lacing that would look even better over a pour but i haven't go there yet. I need to sell some of these projects first.

I watch this video everyday so that I don’t miss a step or forget to do something. This product is awesome and it makes me look like I’m some kind of kitchen remodel artist. Thanks.

You fellas always say no skills are needed but there is definitely experience and skills coming out on some of them beutiful pieces yall come out with! I really like the colors and look of that piece. Edges are the toughest part to get to look natural with out the drip line flow over
@StoneCoatCountertops
@StoneCoatCountertops 2 года назад
The key to the High Deff edges is the tape dam. Wait 3-3.5 hours from mixing to remove then the edges turn out killer. It is easy!!!! Just try out color combos on smaller projects, the exotic pour technique makes epoxy pros out of anyone, just don't mix that bucket before pouring. Thanks so much for watching, have you been able to work with Stone Coat Epoxy yet?

OMG I can’t wait to do my first epoxy countertop project with stone cold epoxy materials! My only wonder is what do you do with the drip edge over the edges on the bottom line do you just send them off or grind them off flush to the bottom edge? Or do you just leave the drips natural around the bottom edge and not clean it up to make smooth?
@francshort3083
@francshort3083 3 месяца назад
If I did an edge with more detail, such as a double ogee, would I tape the entire edge until 2 hours after pouring and then release all the tape at once?@@StoneCoatCountertops

I've been doing counters for over 30 years...I really like this idea...It's a nice Tweener...Tween solid surface/laminate/stone... I would use a black wood edgeband or something exotic and clear coated Wenge, Zebra Wood, etc ...That would soften the look a bit.

I am planning on doing my kitchen this summer, and started watching your videos last year. I have 3 projects to tackle: Approx 40 sf of epoxy. 2 projects same color scheme. 1 project, adding one more paint color. #1) A painted 5' 3" L x 2' W waist-high buffet, The top only will be done to match the teal-ish blue and white walls. I like this Granite- type of design in this video, only with blue, white, grey, brick colors.. (I have a brick fireplace, as well as a river rock fireplace) tie it in with both. It's a 1900s N.E. farmhouse that I am attempting to modernize inside a bit... #2) The second project will be more challenging. Apprix. 24 sf Kitchen Island countertop with 4"×4" ceramic grouted TILE on top. Sink and stove installed, leave in place? Remove? NOT level! It slopes 3/4" over 7 feet. Do you have a flow- time extender? My concern is that the epoxy will flow to one side before hardening. Q: CAN I POUR OVER THE TILE/GROUT? DO I HAVE TO STRIP THE TILE OFF THE COUNTER? THE GROUT SITS SLIGHTLY LOWER THAN THE TILE, WILL THIS MAKE A DIFFERENCE?? 🤔 I'm wondering if the slight depressions where the grout is between tiles will help HOLD the epoxy, preventing flow to the lower area? Can I set wooden "dams" and remove them at the 2 hour mark, allowing the epoxy to semi harden, but still flow into a crevice left by a "dam", thereby controlling flow? The approach for both will be the same I'm assuming? #3) Small wheeled cart. (6 sf) No problem here, no questions.

My counter tops are fake tiles with indentations between each tile. How to fill those in? It’s also a countertop that’s attached to walls so give me some tips here! Love the way this turned out,

Hey Mike, You got this. I have been watching some of your videos on river tables and wanting to try my hand at doing one if I can locate some slabs of walnut or cedar. I enjoy your videos and feel that I have learned a lot from them. Thanks for all the info that you are giving all of us out here watching and not only making these projects look easy but fun too. I'm 90%sure I've seen this table done before... unless Mitch decided he liked the last one so much he wanted to do it again. But I've definitely seen him do a store night white table before.

Wow, how beautiful! Every work I have seen of you I liked very much🤩🤩🤩. I ask you, can I use epoxy on top of a pvc panel?🤔
@mitchquist
@mitchquist 2 года назад
Cool idea, as long as the pvc doesn't flex a ton and you rough up any glossy area you should be ok. Before applying to a large project, do a small test to see if what you are thinking will work out. Let me know if you have any questions
