This may be a silly question but is there a way to add color to the etched portion? I want to try something out and I’ve been searching around to see if there’s a way to etch on a tumbler and add coloring to it

Hey there, a big thank you for checking out this video - I'm so grateful for your support! Just a heads-up, there are no silly questions at all. I totally understand the challenge you faced while searching for an answer. Painting stainless steel tumblers with alcohol ink might get you the desired effect. If you search for "painting steel tumbler with alcohol ink," you might find some useful insights. I did spot a few examples where people painted directly on the stainless steel. If you're looking for a simpler approach, using permanent adhesive vinyl to create your design could be a great option. I hope these suggestions give you some handy ideas for your project. Don't hesitate to reach out if you need more guidance - I'm here to help! 🎨🥤🌟

Love your video! I’m researching etching and it seems there are different grades of stainless steel. Does the grade type make a difference when choosing what chemical to use for the etch?

Thanks a bunch for tuning in and reaching out with your question! 😊 When I was exploring tumbler etching methods, this particular one stood out as the most popular and easiest. When I filmed the video, it was my first attempt at etching, and luckily, it worked out really well! Sometimes taking that leap of faith pays off! 🌟✨

is it safe to use tumblers after using acid on them?

Hey there! 🌟 Thanks a bunch for tuning in and dropping your question. If you've gone through all the steps in the tutorial, it's absolutely safe to use the tumblers afterward. The baking soda trick does wonders by neutralizing the acid, making it all good to go! But hey, don't just take my word for it, you can also check out other forums where they mention the same thing. Safety first though-always use Personal Protective Equipment for peace of mind. Thanks again for watching! 😊

My acid isn't etching it's just sitting on my tumbler

Thank you so much for watching and sharing your feedback! 😊 It sounds like there might be an issue with the preparation or application. Make sure the tumbler is clean and free of any oils or residues before applying the ferric acid. Also, check if there is a clear coat on the tumbler, as this can prevent the acid from etching properly. Try gently agitating the acid on the surface with a brush to help it etch better. I hope this helps, and feel free to reach out if you have any more questions! 🛠️✨

Seemed like a great video. However the robotic voice is a total turn off. Are you a real person or AI generated?

Thank you so much for taking the time to watch and share your feedback! I really appreciate it. Just to clarify, I'm indeed a real person, not AI generated. Sometimes I slip into a more formal presenter voice, but I'm working on incorporating my natural talking voice more. Your input is incredibly valuable as I strive to improve, so thank you again for sharing your thoughts! 🙌
