Hi! Great video! I use the acid as well and have found that using a qtip to lightly apply 2-3 thin coats (about 2 minutes apart) creates very crisp lines. I started out by soaking/sitting items in the acid but it was too messy for me. The qtip method stops the waste of vinyl, mess and acid.
@@tisharenee2755 I was wondering this also. Sam's Club just got in 4 packs of smaller drink tumblers (like stemless wine glass sized, but a tad taller), but they are all colored. They are really pretty and I wondered if this would work with them. They were $20 for a pack of 4.
@@tisharenee2755 that’s so great to know! Thank you! Did you find that it etched as deep as it did when you “soaked” the item in the solution? I tried essentially “painting” the acid on with a qtip, but I didn’t get a very deep etch. However... I didn’t try reapplying every couple of minutes! I can’t wait to try this again and see how it does! Thank you!
I cut the stencil and hubby did the etching part. The stainless steel tumbler turned out great. Hubby was texting everyone a pic of his new tumbler. Thanks for the helpful tips and tricks. Enjoy all of your videos and kudos to you for being such an awesome teacher!
we recently got a bunch of these travel mugs thanks to my fiancé, and now i know what to do with them, thanks Michael! I love your videos and how patience you are, you make using my Cricut Maker more encouraging with each video I watch.
Wow!! Here it is Jan 2023 and this is my first time to watch this!! Thank you so much!! You are a great teacher!!!! ❤️❤️❤️😁😁 I hope you are still around!!
I'm 2 yrs late in seeing this....But my Mind is totally blown away! I'm sooo happy you came in my feed. Your engaging personality really makes for a totally memorable presentation. I wish I found you sooner. But none the less, let the binge watching begin.
Thank you for everything you do! I've learned a lot watching your videos, and I've watched quite a few of them now. As a guy who typically works on old John Deere tractors and racing motorcycles, this is a new Venture for me! Your production quality is excellent and I really enjoy the way you present the projects. Great job! Keep it up!

Dude, your video is as simple and clear as can be. I've learned more about cricut than any other videos. You're really great. You just gained a new follower. I love your videos.
The first video I saw yours was the glass plate with a Christmas etching of, Christmas Calories Don't Count (which made me chuckle). This is an absolute game changer for my business, I had no idea such a thing existed. Thank you for taking the time to do these and sharing with us these awesome how-to videos!
I'm laid up right now and I learn something new from you all the time. I'm new to the Cricut family but I love all the new things I learn from Mr. Crafty Pants. I'm always amazed at all the new things I learn. Thank you so so much.
I have to tell you that my husband and I tried this out. My husband makes knives and a customer wanted his name on it so of course I showed this video to him and I made a stencil for him and it worked perfectly on the blade. Thank you so much for the great video
These are absolutely the best Cricut videos I’ve come across. Honestly, you have great ideas, and explain everything. Plus you have a really calm, cool, and likable vibe. Those guys on makers gonna make or the Cricut channel videos are soooo in your face and annoying, and take forever to get to the point. So thank you for making these videos, I’ve learned sooo much!!! Love watching you.
I just purchased my Cricut maker. Today And I have came across your videos. Thank you for marking these. There amazing and I can’t wait until my dallar Rama or dallar tree open up. :) thank you :)
Hey there. Just started watching you. I'm in the process of doing your How to etch at home. Love how you explain things. It's not the friendliest community for men. So thank you for doing this. Will continue to follow 😊
I bought weeding pens off your link. OMG what a lifesaver. Wish I would have know about these two years ago. They work wonderful! They even sent me a two pack.
I'm NEW TO CRICUT & YOU.... This is the first video of yours that I have come across.. You explain in detail & make it look so simple... you have a New Follower !!!!!!!! I plan on watching all your Videos THANK YOU IN ADVANCE
i was literally looking for videos on this yesterday!! your tutorial was way more informative and easy to follow than all of the others i watched!! thank you so much! can’t wait to see what you create next :)
YAY IM SO EXCITED!!! Thank you in advance for this tutorial. This is the exact project I’ve been wanting to do since getting a joy!! You’re the absolute best!!
OMG! Found this video and I am floored!! Never knew a stencil could be used to etch! We all use stainless cups and this would be an awesome way to personalize them for my family and friends. Yes, I'm a newbie at all things "crafty". I really enjoyed your tutorial and how you explained the process. Owning a Cricut machine is my top Christmas gift this year to begin making things more personal for everyone I love. Thank you for the inspiration!! Definitely joining your text family!! Looking forward to viewing more of your videos. Thanks again!
Absolutely LOVE thia!! Once I get my Cricuit (hoping around Christmas!) I'm going to design something for my husband's plain & boring tumbler! Thanks!!
First off you are the best cricut instructor on the web!! Second, I received a cricut for Christmas from my amazing husband. My first project is this mug design that I etched, with the aid of your amazing video. I do have several beginner screw-ups, but it was not because of the video. I did not apply my vinyl tight enough on some of the places on the mug, and I did not notice that part of my I was missing. Other than that it turned out great! Thanks mr. Crafty pants.
I love watching all your tutorial it’s so easy to follow easy to understand specially to a person that’s not a very tech savvy like me😁 everything is so detailed.
Wow! Thank you for this. I have faith in everything you could ever do now. This is the first time I’ve ever seen you. Never seen anything so cool. I know what I am doing for my entire (male) family. THANK YOU, this is BRILLIANT.
Could you just use tape or something else other than vinyl (to save vinyl) to cover the rest of the cup around the design? Or would it not hold up against the acid? 🤔
I just found you..so glad I did!! I'm brand new at my cricut although I've had it for 2 years. Was just intimidated and working 2 jobs..now I have more time and a little less apprehension to get going on being a cricut creator!!! Thank you so much!!
When covering the tumbler to prevent acid from accidental messes, can one use painters tape instead of remaining vinyl? Or does vinyl work better to prevent acid accidents? 🤗
I know i am super late to the cricut show. But this time last year I was working in a hospital and had a baby. (What a year) but now I have time to learn and make things for my big family. Thank you for making everything so clear! My momma mind gets a little tired after a while. Lol
Hi hope you are doing well. I just started on this and I already tried the glass etching with the Armour cream. But I really want to try this like, right now. Can this liquid be saved after it's been used maybe in a different bowl or bottle.?
I’ve tried less “expensive” options, but they all ended up leaking and ruining the cup. A high quality permanent vinyl doesn’t have to be expensive. A sheet like I used can cost around $0.65. I personally love the StarCraft HD brand! bit.ly/37QHwMU
😳 just found you!. Cricut newbie here!. Subbed. Lots of hard work in your craft and vids. Clear concise tutorial with no nonsense talking and rambling. Your my Cricut guy!. Can't wait for the next one!. Thank you!
Another great Cricut video. You make this all so simple and fun to boot. I am truly amazed at the breadth and depth of this machine's capabilities. Now it's time to break it out and use it. I just cannot figure out what to make first...
You are so awesome!!....The hubs is off because of a broken leg can't wait for him to go back to work so I can watch an evening, Live..I love that you let us know when your livein..lol
I lust wanted to give you some we'll deserved thanks . You are the reason I convinced my husband on buying the cricut maker . We saw so many videos and you just convinced him ☺️ Thank you 🤗
I'VE BEEN WANTING TO LEARN A CRAFT TO KEEP BUSY. GETTING READY TIO RETIRE IN A FEW MORE YEARS. I'VE THOUGHT ABOUT EPOXY, BUT I LOVE THIS ETCHING IDEA WAYYYY BETTER. I AM GOING TO HUNT DOWN MORE OF TUTORIAL VIDEOS.
Bruh. That’s pretty awesome. I got my gf a Cameo Pro for her bday and it finally arrived a week or so ago. She’s probably going to hate me by the time it’s all said and done because I’ve been using it more than her. Ha. C’est la vie. Great video. Thanks.
