It’s helps when you have in your house a place where you have some images and the cross mainly you set apart a place for worship in your house, a small altar and some candles, the fire of the candles created a nice ambience and we can dim the lights around and look at the Cross. Sometimes you are lucky enough as we were and an Adoration chapel is at hand and you can go and spend some time with Him. And He talks to you 100 % certain, now let the world behind when you are in that zone, and don’t let our feelings of shame and guilt be an impediment in our relationship with the Creator. Blessings Father, I included you in my Rosary, say a pray for me! Tks!
Experience of God: God loves His children (those that love Him and obey Him) and lives in them all the time, but can remain hidden. Experience means He decided to make Himself known and have the pleasure of His known company
Each time I have experienced God, it was not of my own doing, God came to me when He wanted to show His love for me, and He knew I desperately needed to experience His love at those times; and after each of the God experiences my life changed direction, God shed his grace on me and He showed mercy on me. One of those experiences was when I was hungover in bed for 3 days, without food and really didnt wanna live, I heard a voice that I knew, it said "Go walk your path", I got up out of bed, called into work, got treatment for addiction, I am now 43 years still sober, and 5 years ago Catheism and Baptised into the Catholic Church, and now I still have alot of catching up to do with God. Thank you Fr Columba for your videos, you make Catholism joyful, and yet very serious, I look for ward to your videos, God Bless You!
Thank you Father for making this video. I have really been trying to find and feel those moments where God is reaching out to me. I have definitely felt them when I missed an opportunity to listen to the Holy Spirit. I love listening to you, you seem like you’d make a good friend. May God bless you and keep you. Daniel
I was living in a sin for a year, until I decided to put an end onto it. There was a feeling of joy which I could not explain, but so convicted at the same time. I was in tremendous sadness for what I have done but there was peace and joy. Whenever I go to the adoration chapel, I could not utter words just crying and it was non-stop. My eyes were always in tears for I feel so sorry ang guilty. Until on the 3rd day, there was a small voice within saying "go to confession on Friday". The words was instilled in my mind for 2 days. Friday came, I found myself in heavy tears inside the confession box. After a 9ne good confession I fell so light as if a knife was pulled from my heart. I could not describe what feeling was it, all I can say is joy and peace. I see the beauty all around me. I was perplexed, because I sinned against God but after the confession the guilt, conviction, and sorry were seemed erased all of a sudden. Thank you, father for explaining this. I thought the inexplainable feeling was just in my mind.
I really loved hearing what you said. I also loved the comments too. I am not the only Long Ranger that loves Him and knows how intensely He loves me. Why does it seem like its so rare to find anyone that could even say God loves them, and they love him (well in my case, never enough, never will be). Now all I need is a much more sensitive conscience like the saints, so I won't offend the One I love!
Yes my favorite moments are when I feel Him loving me. My soul seems to expand and I don’t want to leave His presence. Then It quietly passes and I yearn for the next moment. But yes Father it is in the quiet where we find Him waiting for us. Thank you for these videos..they also warm my heart with your words and soothing manner. God bless you.
Does not have to be quiet time (remember st Francis example) He has loved me and I know it at an orchid show, at a wedding, cutting grass, at night when I wake up, sometimes when I worship. It is out of my control when He wants to love me….absolutely true what fr Columbia says: be sensitive and aware He could want to love you….or not, it’s up to Him. Yes does go away. Same here, i long for Him to come back…which you can count on…but don’t know when He will come back. The pleasure of His company makes you want to be with Him right away, not wait anymore! Some times can embrace and love me until I wonder if He loves me any more I will get loved out of existence…..oops! Hugged and loved that one too hard
Thank you extremely much, Fr Columba … it’s a heartfelt feeling I get just as you described. That touching warm feeling with my God is a little miracle that occurs whenever. I get a sweet smile from my heart when I think of it with my Trinity during the days and nights. Beautiful. 🧡 🧡 🧡
Yeah, you're right, the joys of the world only last in the moment but always leave you craving for more. It's like there's no rest and you start to go crazy.
Conversely, his love is so great that it could tear you apart If he didn’t know how much of it you could take. He could love you to bits literally . So could his glory, those word we use without realising the magnitude of their true meaning. I’m convinced of that and of the poverty of what we have to offer in exchange which he nonetheless craves. Great are those mysteries which I for one cannot comprehend.
Thank you Fr. Columba, this talk helps so much. I often thought it was my state of sin that I couldn't hear God, or worse still the sins I kept recommitting despite my best effort or just giving up that God was upset or angry. Maybe if I just say what I can and wait and listen quietly, like you said, hopefully it will be different. Some days I find the harder I try to improve or pray, the more turmoil there is. Your words and talks are a continual reinforcement that God loves us despite what we do even when trying and still fall so short of being what we hope to be.
I was literally holding a sleeping baby as I watched this. Also: “Pray because we want God in our life.” This is exactly what I realize I’ve been trying to say to Him all my life. Starting now “I want You in my life” is going to be a regular prayer from me.
I find I connect with God most powerfully through praying the Holy Rosary. It is a wonderful way to quiet your day and listen to Him, letting the Holy Spirit speak to you. Once you make it a routine to pray all 3-4 Rosaries a day, then you will be able to more clearly hear His Voice and do His Will. Focusing on the life of Christ with Mary will help you to hear that still small voice of the Lord. God Bless!

Thank you, Father Columba. My prayers are with you. *Adoration today, I sat and enjoyed being in the presence of God. My heart, full of Joy. My mind, quieted. My body, found rest. Peaceful. Grateful. ❤️
Thank you Fr Columbo for confirming what I suspected, I do feel joy consistently when I talk with God, thank Him for my many gifts. Trusting in Him when things are tough too and then seeing beauty on the other side of the struggle. Faith is a gift. Like the song goes "The joy of the Lord is my strength."
Was hungry for Adoration today. Have learned to be still and be open. Amazing things have happened to me as a result of Holy Hour My mother was visited yesterday by a Hospice lady who sang Over The Rainbow. I stood in the kitchen and balled my eyes out..so moved.
Thank you Father! This talk was a answer to my Prayers!!! So, many time's I have questioned rather Or not it was God speaking to me! I am ashamed to say I didn't always obey Him When He was saying Not to do what I was about to do! But blamed it on His not speaking up to be sure I heard Him correctly!!! Now I have No excuse & Only shame! I have asked Him for forgiveness and I Will listen better and obey Each time!!! There is Soooo much I have paid attention to and Obeyed and am being Blessed by Him and learning more and more these past 6 1/2 year's here as a Hermit in the Upper Mojave Desert! I spent 14yrs going to daily Mass at the Carmelite Monastery of Carmel (Sisters). You probably know how they speak of "the Desert"! It is True! It is a great place to learn!!! My Lord takes away what ever pleases Him, to teach me what He Will's !And I have benefited from those experiences and I am sure, At a woman, cradle Catholic at 79yrs. Will still have much more to benefit from! I think of St.Mary of the Desert or St.Mary of Egypt I live a Very simple life so I am looking for good needy causes to help! How Are you Monks doing??? Are your needs being met??? 🤗
Thank you Carolee for this lovely comment and for your enquiry. You can support this video channel here: www.calledtomore.org/donate And/or you can give to Fr Columba’s friary here: www.cfrfranciscans.co.uk/st-pio-friary
thats so true. Im very blessed, christianity came so easy to me. God came for me the other year and Ive felt him every day since. My problem is to let prayer take time. That kind of enjoyment is so different from those of the world as you say. He never gives up on me though :)
I’m so glad I’ve found this! I asked God for growth and to take me in and here I thought I wasn’t receiving it. But, this video has taught me that he is working on me more than I thought. Thank you lord ❤
@@ctmcatholic I am a practicing Catholic (and a wretched sinner). The Catholic faith is definitely the path to joy. I’m still working my way up the mountain
So inviting to ex6perience the love of God .I guess it comes more often than we can imagine and we forget it is God working. Thank you Father excellent

Thank you Father for being and doing what you do for us, God bless you and all good and Holy priests and all who preach and teach in our Most Holy Catholic Church🙏
Father, I just discovered your Channel and I love it. The way you gently explain your thoughts and scriptures are amazing. I'm loving it and going through 1 by 1 each and every upload with an open heart. Thankyou so much for the gift of your channel
Thankyou. This was such a beautiful talk and really gave me lots of take aways on how I can better honour and value the experiences God gives me. Really really helpful. thankyou so much for this and the other content on your chanel. Has really helped me with my spiritual walk. :)
I sit daily and pray The Jesus Prayer for 20 minutes. I feel my thoughts quieten and on occasion a peaceful impression ... Is this the sort of thing you mean?
Experiencing God is different for everyone, and it sounds like this is the way you have found to connect with Him. It’s also a great question to bring to spiritual direction. Do you have a director to speak with? God bless, Katie
Hi Mary, thank you so much for your suggestion. Father did something on a similar topic which you might find helpful. I’ll post a link below. God bless ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-oovwTdW2tq0.html
Thank you Father for another inspiring eye opening vudeo ! You explain things in a very simple way to understand ! Yiu and Father Mark Goring (who has a youtube channel) are my favourites God Bless Brian
So beautiful! I’m so happy I have found your content. I want to binge it, but even better - I savor it. I would much rather sit on one video for the day so I can meditate on the message. It’s not a race! Haha I have to remind myself. Thanks so much and God Bless!
Thank you for this gorgeous video. I was so moved by what you described that I was literally moved to tears. This happens to me at times during mass or at the Adoration Chapel. I am not sure if this is the gift of tears or if it just means I am very sensitive and a cry-baby. At any rate, thank you so much for such a beautiful video.
That is incredibly beautiful and we’re so glad this video spoke to you. Sounds more like a gift to me, a gift of connecting with Our Lord. Also something you could bring to spiritual direction for further clarity if you ever wanted to. God bless you, Katie
Thank you Father. I have spent 6 weeks with the Carmelite sisters and feel more and more strongly the pull towards the religeous life. Now, please do not laugh, but I have 2 cats, 1 is elderly and I made a commitment to these animals when I took them on. This is standing in the way of a resolution of my going into the Monastery. Oh dear. Do you have any suggestions?
Praise God for your calling to religious life. Is this something you’ve been able to speak to a spiritual director about? I don’t suppose you’re allowed to bring the cats with you? Or have you been able to find a suitable home for them to stay? Praying for your discernment. Katie and Team x
“How can I grow in my experiential knowledge of God?“ Basically the question is,”How can I feel closer to God or feel that he is closer to me.” That’s an extremely common question due to the fact that there is no god and the emotions (experiential) are being conjured up from within the person in a delusional fashion. We see what we want to see and feel what we try hard to feel, at least temporarily. Delusion and self-deception are powerful tools of the human mind. It is an extension of our ability to imagine. God is imaginary no matter how real he feels to you.
@@ctmcatholic If he did exist, loving would be the last description one might give him. A loving parent would never send even the most rebellious child to an eternity of torment for not worshiping me (a very emotionally needy god to be sure).
Hi, thank you for your question. Father Columba doesn’t manage this page, but if you’d like to suggest a topic for next time please feel free to. God bless
Great question, I had to look this up myself. Here’s some more info on his feast day and what he is patron saint of: www.google.com/amp/s/catholicreadings.org/saint-elijah-the-prophet-saint-of-the-day-july-20/%3Famp
@@ctmcatholic thanks! First i ever heard of an Old Testament hero being a patron saint besides angels. Civil aeronautics because of the flaming chariot, i guess... Same feast day as the first lunar landing? 🤔
