A lot of poker players demonstrate passive behaviour at the tables. They check too much overall, and when they decide to bet, it's usually not a threatening sizing. When facing such players, most people believe that the way to exploit them is by overfolding - since these guys are passive, they are probably not bluffing enough, and therefore the appropriate adjustment is to fold a lot when they put money into the pot. That makes sense and is often a good adjustment on the river. However, it's just the tip of the iceberg. There is A LOT more we can do to exploit passive players.
In this video I show you my 3-Level Framework of Exploitation, and how I apply each level to the context of exploiting passive players. By the end of this video, you'll be making much more money against them.

I have to say Saulo, the concept of adjusting strategy on earlier streets to funnel opponents into making mistakes on a future street is mind-blowing to me. I don't think I have seen it explored even on paid training sites. Great content Saulo.

You'll be mind blown when you understand that preflop is a street too, and increased passivity allows you to play many more hands preflop. You'd be surprised how many hands you can open when the table is under 3 betting, many hands are only losing because they cannot get to the flop often enough to realize their equity in solver land.

Point 1 and point 3 on your summary kind of go against each other for someone who skipped through the video and just wanted the conclusion, bc how are you going to overcall with marginal hands if the point is to over fold vs this player type lol. I think you should’ve been a bit more specific and said overfold against them OTR. And overcall marginal hands in order to turn them into bluffs when checked into them. Other than that, perfect video!

@saulocostapoker
@saulocostapoker 5 месяцев назад
Ali eu dei o exemplo especifico de delay cbets so pra exemplificar, mas basicamente qualquer situação que um jogador passivo dá check fora de posição é uma boa oportunidade pra aumentar a agressão

I really like the culture of Latin America, I understand that it differs from country to country, and I plan to travel all over it. And I am absolutely amazed by the nature of Brazil, of course. I will definitely see this live. By the way, players from Brazil never leave you indifferent and it’s not easy to play with them! And thanks again for everything you do - it's incredibly valuable information. I was shocked by the showdowns when I started calling fish on any river. At the last level, calling with marginal hands is because when we don't connect, are we going to bluff a lot when the opponent checks on the river?
@saulocostapoker
@saulocostapoker 5 месяцев назад
The math is simply that what is bad (facing a turn bet) happens less often, which decreases our losses when calling flop, and what is good (facing a turn check) happens more often, which increases our winnings when calling flop. When we face a check on the turn, yeah most of the time we get an opportunity to bluff the river, but also we hit our pair more often, allowing us to win against their bluffs without needing to bet ourselves
@ramirohergenreder9713
@ramirohergenreder9713 5 месяцев назад
@@saulocostapoker Interesting, I always thought the best way was to overfold, but this makes a lot of sense because we can materialize almost any most suitable connector and connect pairs. Thanks bro, I live low stakes and consider this content premium.

Very good content ! I think there is a 4 point very important that I've experienced with very good results, and this is keep the initiative as long as you can against this players and even steal it whenever you can! Don't leave them choose what they wanna do, don't leave them polarize their range and face very big bets in situations you don't feel confident o don't have a clear way to respond. This way they gonna be more uncomfortable and they gonna make more mistakes
@saulocostapoker
@saulocostapoker 5 месяцев назад
I don't know man, if people are going to play too passively with their bluffs, I kind of want to let them do it, instead of taking that opportunity away from them. Don't you think so too?

@@saulocostapoker yeah exactly, but thats what I mean with your purpose. For example, typical situation defending BB vs Btn, low conected board and btn doesnt cbet.
