I hate after effects so much. I tried to learn it so many times... just the fact that one cannot SIMPLY create a mp4 from a composition just shows how weird and ultra unintuitive this program is. smh

it depends which version you install, if you install like AE 2018 version, you have to install the media encoder but with same 2018 version, because if you install the encoder with different version, it will give you the same error

The problem is that it said I have to wait 12 hours for it to complete. And I’m not tryna wait that long for it to just crash or fail in the end. (EDIT) OMG I’m so dumb, I had accidentally selected a 4K Hd quality one and didn’t change the nitrate settings. I changed it to 1080p for RU-vid and changed the nitrate settings, and it took it 8 minutes to complete.

Why is it not built into after effects? Why?? My first render in after effects was with an AVI format because me and my teacher didn't know how to get a MP4. An 8 second clip was like a gig. I just finished another after effects video and it's 30 seconds. I don't feel like using up 100 gigs. lol.

@@weebletedits6808 i think at the time i was kinda new to after effects so i didnt rlly know how to transfer my project to Adobe Media Encoder. But i did remember that my issue was because i was using After Effects 2018 and was trying to export my project to Adobe Media Encoder 2020. So i deleted Adobe Media 2020 and downloaded the 2018 version and it worked fine afterwards

H264 is not in the option and its exporting in avi. that plays on the laptop but not on mobile!

Your final advert covers the play button so it is difficult to find it when you don't know where to look.
