Yeah I found that happened to me a few times that is why I made mention of it in the video. I couldn't quite ascertain what caused it but often when I went back and recreated using the exact steps shown it then worked all times I tried it. So all I can suggest is try deleting the shortcut and go back and do it again, make sure the exact functions are added and that you name the filename in the step before save. See how it goes.
last step doesn't seem to be working for me, I've done the whole process again but I can't find a way to connect the last step with the whole shortcut command
Thanks for a great tutorial. You make it so simple that anyone can easily follow. I had two issues. 1) Getting the save functionality to get linked to the previous steps and 2) I don’t see the shortcut created when I try to find the shortcut to extract the audio from the video file. I am sure I have not missed any steps. Did it a few times with the same result. Thanks

Great video! Every step was slow and clear. Mine will not let me export the video once I completed all the short cut steps. The "export audio" shortcut file is not a drop down option once I click export from my camera roll. when I open files to manual place it into short cuts- it does not let me save. Would you know why?
I did all what you said but when I press extract audio shortcut in photo gallery , it will not ask me to where to save it , and there is not audio file in my file

Great to hear that. I just found it the process had changed on iOS 16 after having done the same tutorial for iOS 15 and prior to that 14. They keep changing it ever so slightly. So glad this one was helpful to you.
This was incredibly helpful! Thank you so much. Anyone who is struggling with the adding save file to the chain part, I suggest manually searching for it and then selecting “add to shortcut” that solved my problem :)
I kept getting to the end and nothing was happening for me after the file was “downloaded” so I switched off the “ask where to save” button and just chose a folder to save it AND THEN it worked for me! Hope this helps 😁
Hello Sir The process you showed is not working on my iphone 12 rurunning iOS16.5. Even the option does not show up in the list while I tried to extract audio ftom a RU-vid video. Shouldn't this work for youtube? Thanks
Great, glad you enjoyed the video. To remove audio from a video file I would suggest using iMovie. It is free video editing software provided by Apple. See if it is on your phone already, if not download it from the app store. Hi there, if you selected show in share sheet it should be there. Some people have mentioned they had to do a restart to see it. Try that and let me know if it works.
I have ios 16 on my SE. I have followed the instructions in the video and everything looks identical for your video and my phone, including the thin vertical lines. However it's not showing up in my share file in my photos app. Help? Yes, I clicked on the share files sheet too!

I cant get the shortcut to work; I triple checked and have all the steps and the vertical line. Extraction comes up when I share the video but there is no extraction; it just sits there with the circle waiting for it to start downloading
I’m getting a “this operation could not be completed” error when I select the extract tab on my video. My screen looks exactly like yours. Any idea what could be the problem?
followed everything as described but the files menu never opened up to let me tell it where to save the audio, even though it had the check mark and everything looked as you described- any ideas on what happened and where my file went? it is supposed to ask me where to save and never did

I filled every step exactly, 3 times. And by exactly, I mean I had the video PiP while following the steps and it doesn’t have anything when I go to photos, select the video and share. No shortcut to extract. There have been 2 16.whatever updates, is that possibly why?
Oh i see so that shortcut doesn't appear in the share sheet? I few people have reported a similar problem and they said that they restarted and the shortcut appeared. Perhaps try that.
Yes it will work on iPad and even Mac OS. In fact the shortcut once created on one device should be seen on all other devices if logged in via the same Apple ID.
I’m missing something… I follow this step-by-step, but when I get to adding the “Save File” option, it disconnects from the workflow (there’s no line that connects it to the previous “Set name of…” step). When I try to use the shortcut, it seems to execute the command and even shows a banner at the top of the screen, but the extracted file is nowhere to be found…
