How To Factory Reset A Lenovo Computer / Restore To Factory Settings - 2 Ways + New Install Tutorial

This video tutorial will show you two methods of factory resetting your Lenovo computer. The 1st method with a functioning operating system and the 2nd with a computer that will not boot properly. Remember to back up data before Reset as you may loose some or all of your data.

Q: What key are you pressing for the Lenovo?
A: F11. Sometimes it can be F10, F9, NOVA Button, etc
Q: The factory reset wont complete? What do I do now?

I've been up all night trying to configure and watching tutorials about this device. @PC Monkey Hello. I have a Lenovo z400. It came with win8 and today has win8.1because an update. I still do not leave the pc as factory...and I want it (junk files, maybevirus,etc). Do you know if I do it ... the windows activation key (different from the serial installation) or product id remains and will everything work fine? He currently has a pirate office ... I don't know if he killed the original one in the hidden partition? I remember using kms or kmspico something like that ... I want to reestablish the factory and that everything works fine. Another thing: My pc is slow but I can gonin windows wothoutproblem... should you restore with the Lenovo onekey or better go to the menu in windows and put the factory reset? Which one will be more likely to be successful and not fail? Thanks

Usb option dosent work for me bcuz i put win10 in it not win11 so i need to factory reset via bios because win 11 broke my pc.

If you wish to install Win11 with the USB, just erase whatever files are currently on it. USB are not a one use and done thing. You can erase DATA and reuse them if needed.

My laptop is has been stuck on this restarting loop where when i start it it shows me the start up screen and then goes to this blue screen that say installing windows 64 please wait may take a second but or show for a few seconds then restart and does the same thing again if anyone could help me it would be great

Hey... I'm having problems so with a quick search, I came across your RU-vid videos. Love your videos. Unfortunately, I still have no luck with my issue and will appreciate your help. I have a Lenovo Ideapad L340 laptop. I have randomly lost access to windows (I get the bluescreen error, stating missing files). I followed some of your videos and managed to get into Bios. I can also get into the Blue screen with the reset, troubleshooting and other options. All the options seem to fail. I also went on the Lenovo website and created the recovery boot up thing on USB storage, however, I can't get the laptop to boot from the USB. I tried going on the automatic repair screen and tried recovery by selecting EFI USB as well as the internal storage, HDD recovery and also by selecting My USB Storage but it just boots back into the error screen. Do you know any other way I can restore my laptop? My drives are showing up fine in the BIOS screen...

Hi! I want to factory reset my laptop just to clean all the clutter that I have accumulated with the years. I have passed all the important info onto a USB drive. Man... My asus laptop is stuck on the boot and reboot proper device stuff and I can’t leave it, I don’t have the window’s manager boot option, please help me, also btw my laptop is a model 2015, and before all this happen, I was playing a game and the game was to graphic, so it started to lag out, so I decided to restart my pc, and all of a sudden, it was checking for disk errors and it was on that screen for 5 days, so I went to the boot menu, and I got stuck ever since. I was trying to open the pc and fix stuff but it was no use, when I put it back together, I noticed one of the boot options disappeared, and it was only the DVD player, and I tried something else with some of the options on the boot menu and I got boot option, and that’s when I commented here, is there anything you can do to help me??

Thanks for your guidance, but when resetting my Lenovo yoga I get to reset blue screen, , I get to selections, continue, use a device, troubleshoot, or turn off yr pc. I hit troubleshoot, I get to reset this PC or advanced options, in select reset this PC, I'm at keep my files or remove everything, I hit remove everything, now I'm at cloud download or local reinstall, i hit local reinstall and it brings me right back to continue, use a device, troubleshoot, or turn off yr pc. And it just keeps bringing me back here after hitting troubleshoot, reset this PC, remove everything, then local reinstall, back to continue, use a device, troubleshoot, or turn off yr pc.

please help i hope u see this comment, im trying to reset my work laptop that's a Lenovo B50 and when i try to factory reset since i dont have access to the admin account (she no longer works here) it says there's no operating system detected. im thinking something might be corrupted because system 32 also keeps randomly popping up after every reboot. every solution i try requires the admin password which i don't have. feels like im out of options! thanks for these videos

Sir I need your help very much. I have a Samsung series 5 notebook NP530U3B. I am having problems with booting. I cant find why isn’t it working. Yes. The factory apps and drivers will still be there. However, many of the apps and drivers installed by 3rd party retailors will be deleted

What’s the difference between “local” and “cloud”? We don’t have a usb handy, just wondering if we need to make a recovery drive before doing the full factory reset. (Full details: my browsers are suddenly saying they’re “managed by your organization” except I’m not part of any organization and this is my personal PC. I’ve tried uninstalling Chrome, deleting everything connected to it, resetting passwords, etc. and it’s still saying that. And we just noticed it says the same thing on MS Edge. Hoping a full reset will get rid of whatever is doing it 😢)

If your computer is turning on and working normally, you should be able to factory reset without creating a recovery drive. If your computer is not turning on and working normally, what is the issue?

I did a hard reset on a lavino thinkcentre desktop computer and it took forever to finish and when it was finished and I go to sign in it says the user profile service failed the sign in user profile cannot be loaded and it has an okay button I hit okay and the screen goes black and then it goes back to a nice picture with the time date and that's it and that's all it lets me do it will let me connect to the Wi-Fi but it will not open it up on the screen

Jaime, Still having boot-up probs. with my Lenovo Ideapad Slim 1-14AST-05, Model Name 81VS S/N R90ZNDKL..Yesterday I was getting hung up at the automatic repair because I did not have the correct Password. I did a power start F2, the reinstall the admin Password and the User Password. Strangely for the Admin Password it would not allow me to enter Caps or special character by buzzing me an error sound. Today I am able to get to the desktop sign-on graphic screen. WHen I hit enter to enter my PIN number it tells me "Something happened and your PIN is not available. Check to set up your PIN again" WHen I select that option it showed Floyd Leyba....just a moment and then it says "search for an app. You need an app for this task..." It returned back to the desktop graphic log in screen with the Time and date......Any suggestions...I would certainly pay for assistance

Other symptoms with my Lenovo...It mow, when I refresh the screen Flashes on the bottom of the screen Fixing (C) Stage 2, Then Preparing Automatic Repair, then Diagnosing your PC, then Automatic Repair Blue screen Restart (selected twice does nothing), back to Preparing Automatic Repair....nothing. I then tried to boot wit a EasyRe Win10 Recovery Disc.....nothing happened I did try going to Advanced Options.... could not get anywhere. I the did a hard shutdown restart and OMG it finally opened my Desktop, ever so slowly....took a minute or two for my lower screen tool bar to populate....what is a poor mother to do??

I have an issue where last night, everything was perfectly fine and I was on Chrome, Today I wake up and log into my Lenovo laptop and I find that my downloads (including my games and some of my game data), pictures and captures are gone. I go back into Chrome and I'm signed out and my bookmarks are gone as well. After I re-downloaded some of my stuff again, I restarted my computer to see what would happen and sure enough, my downloads and stuff are gone once again. It's like my computer did a whole reset or something by itself and I'm completely lost as to how this even happened or how to fix this issue. Do you have an explanation for this?

So I recently picked up a Dell desktop for free. It had Windows Vista on it,so I thought I could just factory reset,and install a Windows 10. I plugged it in,and I was able to get to the desktop,but after trying to install Windows 10 I get a message saying The operating system couldn't be loaded because the kernel is missing or contains errors. First, I no longer try to install Win10 onto WinVista machines. They are too old and if you can get it to install, they are glitchy and have many driver issues. Hey, I have a Lenovo laptop, i dont know the exact name of the computer i believe it is a Lenovo thinkbook thinkbook 14 G2 ITL, and the problem is that one day i was playing video games and I guess the computer got overflowed and I received a blue screen saying driver irql not less (something like this I don't remember well), and unlike most of the blue screens Ive had it got stuck in 0%. And after the computer turned off and now everytime I try to turn it on it turns on but gets stuck on Loading Screen saying Lenovo. Good morning. I hope you can help me. I am a full-time college student pursuing a degree in Accounting and I use my TP 490s daily. I do not know what happened or why it happened, but this morning, my PrtSc button stopped working independently. One Google site says to combine it with the Window Logo key ... others say to use the F mode key... yet others say to use a combination of keys + the PrtSc button. I am very busy multitasking between using my laptop, tablet, and phone to complete many assignments weekly ... I do not want to add additional steps to perform the same task I was doing with one button. Up until yesterday, I only used one button (PrtSc) and I would like to keep it this way. Would you happen to know what may have caused this? I called customer service and was told it could have been an update, but my update history shows the last windows update was performed at the end of April. Can you please help me fix this?

Yes, most likely that was due to an update. Operational Update. Very hard to track something like that down to a specific update or a specific part of an update and then to reverse the update. Updates usually provide more benefit than they take away. Sry :(

Lenovo fan comes on at power on but I can't get to BIOS. Just straight to a blackscreen. I've done what I think are the steps to reset the bios but I might have it wrong. I've pulled the CMOS battery out for a few minutes. I've disconnected the power and the battery. I found the pinhole to reset the CMOS. I connected everything back together. And tried to reboot. Straight to black screen. Any suggestions?

I don't know of you will reply to this but my Lenovo legion 5 is stuck on the loading screen and the only keys I could find were the bios (F2) and the boot manager (F12) and I don't know exactly what to do from there I have a feeling it's a windows error because my computer automatically updated to windows 11 a couple days ago and just a minute ago when it booted up after like 35 minutes of waiting it loaded windows 10 and previously it was loading windows 11 so I don't exactly understand what's going on because it was acting weird when it was on the windows 10 system and I reset it again and it's been almost 2 hours stuck on this loading screen and I've tried all the keys almost resetting it lol

I am having trouble getting my Lenovo ideapad 110-15ISK to restart after changing battery. It wasn't charging and I left it alone until this . When I turned my laptop on I did the steps in the other video on changing the battery. I checked for updates and after the update things went downhill from there. I did all the steps in the other video where I held the power button down for a minute and remove the hard drive I turned my laptop on and I get the Lenovo screen and than one of two things happen. First it turns on and off in a matter of seconds 2nd I get the Lenovo screen with the wheel turning and it will say prepairing automatic repair and than shut off in the middle of it's work. I don't know what else to do and I dont want to make matters worse. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance for your help.

I got to reset a computer in the hotel 😂 not like this but I got it . I mean it was hard to get the option page showing up because it haded a BIOS settings but after a couple time shutting off and turning on the computer quick she gave me the option by herself she knew something was wrong lol so I got that blue page I click on advance option and that’s it reset from factory delete all Like I’m not going to keep it option 😂 now I can play games with my controller on the computer in the lobby 😂

If your computer cannot find the operating system, then you cant reset it. The computer has to be able to see the OS before it can do anything to it. We would have to troubleshoot that issue first. Good day, my laptop is stuck on the boot menu screen. I tried changing the boot settings back and forth. It only shows the Lenovo sign when I power it up but it doesn't even start loading at startup and goes back to the boot menu. Couldn't get the option to download installation. I went to microsoft support chat and was given a link to the latest version. It was suggested that the flash drive needs to be formated first to clear and set up with NFDS. Once I did this it was smooth sailing.

My Lenovo ideapad 330 keeps saying my device ran into a problem and needs restart every time I turn it on. I’ve tried restarting it but it didn’t help. And it’s running really slow. What can I do?

I hard factory reset, because one morning I went to log into computer & my it came up wrong password come to find out it wasn't my username, it was someone else, I tried pulling mine & it wouldn't so I soft factory reset it. That did not work so I hard to factory reset then when I tried to get in it's telling me to put my pin couldn't get anything up to put the pen in, then at one time it told me I needed the app for it I can't get in any ways to get the app. So we started to manually get into things but can't get where we need to be to get it up and running I put it in default to factory settings but I can't get into anywhere as to even get the app on or get it up and running now I did put where I had to put the supervisor password and then hard drive one password that way it's harder for anyone to get in. Now I get the password again and come back up to the same menus and I can't get anything else what do I do?

If the factory reset does not complete or does not accomplish what you desired, you would then try to install Windows new as seen in the last portion of this video.

hello brother i have a problem in my laptop when i am using it after sometime it become turn off sudenly or sometime go to sleep automatically and sometime when i want to open my laptop press the power button it turn off in a second also my laptop power on when i plugged in the charger or pluge the battery in without pressing the power button please brother give me a solution or make a video on this problem waiting for your reply model name dell latitude core I5 E6430 3rd generation
