How to factory reset the tp-link Deco M5 Wireless Whole Home access point.
This video shows you how to use a paperclip to press the reset button so the Deco M5 goes to factory defaults ready to be setup from the beginning.
tl;dw: Tap the reset button, no need to hold it down for a long time.

You should make a comment about how long the device needs to be turned on before you can use the reset button. Eg does it need to be fully powered up, or can you simply plug it in and immediately press reset. Eg mine was hard yellow (powering up) but pressing reset does nothing if in this state.

Ah, with almost all devices the thing needs to have been plugged in and turned on long enough to boot up. A factory reset is triggered by software so if it hasn't started up it won't be able to trigger a reset. Usually pressing the reset button before it has started will either do nothing or will trigger an emergency firmware recovery mode.

I also did the reset and set up it via deco app, however even if I am connected and near the device I am receiving a weak signal, most likely one or two bars only.

Even on multiple devices? (E.g. is the device you are connecting from faulty?)

@@freename after changing into a new LAN cable everything works fine.
