A tutorial on how to factory restore your computer (NOTE: If possible please save all important information before doing this or you will lose EVERYTHING)
Starting a recovery via the recovery partition usually means that you have to press one of the “F” keys (such as F1-F12) the moment after you hit the power button. These should be: Acer - Alt + F10 Asus - F9 Dell/Alienware - F8 HP - F11 Lenovo - F11 MSI - F3 Samsung - F4 Sony - F10 Toshiba - 0 (not numpad) while turning on, release key when Toshiba logo appears
Just to help those of you without a dell... I have a sony so I had to look this up cuz F8 didnt work for sony but I followed this amd it worked perfectly!
amandaroseaz I have a Sony and I can't find my disc can you help me? I want to restore my computer back to factory settings. OS is Windows7. Home Premium.
Just got myself a new pc as the old one is about 8 years old, still works great for what it is and wanted to give it to my uncle since he has an overheating laptop. Cheers for this video, helped a lot!
My computer just has too much crap and downloads on it, I have this exact same laptop the Inspirion and couldn't find this method anywhere since the laptop is decently old. Thank you!
Philippe same here and like 3 hours ago i hit the CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED error while trying to load up a game i havent been able to get to my desktop its like my display drivers stopped working
cdwwg mine to now. Won't even read the recovery cd. No options to even boot. Coincidence that these things begin failing after warranty is up? I think not #Lenovo #Windows8 #Microsoft
Mines doesn't have that restore your computer at the bottom...& I don't need to backup anything on my laptop so how do I go around that? Because I'm stuck & it won't let me factory reset it.
Ernis Veilside Because I was researching info on a factory reset, because my .dll was missing and I wanted to remeber the name...Saw this video. Saw the guy was naked. It wasn't a "question" to be answered. It was Rhetorical, if you even know what that means...I was pointing out he was naked, while "asking" if anyone realized that....As if to "comment in the form of a question" ...."HEY! Look, the guy is naked"....What is it like having Aspergers?
i downloaded so much games my cpu memory and disk is really hitting the roof so i want a fresh start. Also i did alot of crap ppl said that will better my gaming performance and my games are just on the virge of pissing me of with the sticking and fps drops for no reason.
oh this old post XD well'p in trying to restore it to factory eended in failure windows 8 wont reset idk y. but im gonna get a better pc with better everything than what i have now most of my games are going on an external HD and games and games alone will be on that pc this old one im using now will be for crappy program which contribute to the stress im having now. PS my laptop is sticking at random now bravo dell just bravo.
I was trying to install mine craft and it said I have a virus. Thank you soo much, when I try to reset my computer, it takes me forever. Again thank you soo much. I think you are going have a job on helping people with computers one day or if you do good luck or if you have sent in an application good luck. Have a good year.
I have an Acer Aspire 5515 running Windows 7, and I can do everything up untill 2:55 I don't have the last option, I only have "Startup Repair, System Restore, System Image Recovery, Windows Memory Diagnostic, Command Prompt" that's it, no 6th option. Please help :D (Don't tell me to use a new/old windows 7 installation disk, recovery disk, system restore, or a 12 guage please)
Hongen Lim BlockMinecraftBustersPhillip Molina Just inserted the new Windows CD to install another Windows 7 and then, installed it, after the installation, all my files went to the windows.old folder. When your new Windows OS is ready u gotta go to start button and search "disk cleanup" u open it and select the previous windows installations check box, and any other check boxes for the files you want to delete, and then click ok. Hope this to be useful!
As i see you arent wearing a shirt, I dont want to know what you have been searching before you did this video. Joking :) nice video thank you, you helped me a lot
While you can certainly go there by pressing F8, the laptop I have being a Lenovo Thinkpad will not let me factory reset it unless I have the disc required.
Thank u so much I was looking for a hour on how to hard reset my laptop I couldn't find anything that worked becuz my laptop is so old and this worked great (: thank u so much
I did this and my computer said "WARNING: SELF DISTRUCT MOD ACTIVATED! YOU HAVE 10 SECONDS TO SCREAM AND RUN AROUND IN TERROR!" so i did what the computer said and suddenly silento got on the screen and forced to me to do the whip and nae nae like i was a wild animal ;_; he finally left. i looked at my screen. and the windows 7 startup noise came up. the background was "watch me whip (;"
I chose the bottom option, I have windows 7 hp, and it gave me the option for a factory reset. if you go to the system recovery, it'll give you the option all the way to the left.
+DETETIVE SANTOS I don't use vista any more its just that recently my windows 10 CPU broke so I was just checking to see if my old CPU was still working
0:20 I don't know but considering my computer is slowly failing at doing anything I think it warrants a reset. I can't even open the damn calculator app.
When you have so many peep asking the same question you should answer them, by updating your main comment, even it’s to say you don’t know the answer!! There’s no repair computer option!
Yeah any options I got were safe mode safe mode with networking safe mode with command prompts enabled route login enable VGA mode last known good configuration debugging mode disable automatic restart start Windows normally reboots return to is Choice menu
Trying this because whenever i press my left shift key my computer goes into this mode where whatever key i press is the shortcut option for pressing shift+ctrl, so when i press it my computer basically breaks.
My PC doesn't have restart computer theirs Safe mode Safe mode with network Safe mode with command prompt Enable boot logging Enable VGA mode Last known good configuration (your most recent settings that worked) Directory services restore mode (windows domain controllers only) Debugging mode Disable automatic restart on system failure Start windows normally Reboot And return to OS choices menu. Which one would wipe everything off

i bought a cheap computer and one day it said "windows not genuine" so i looked up a tutorial on how to fix that. it worked but now it eveeything just flips out in me. restoring to factory settings is always my go to but when i go to the option insted of saying "restore your windows pc to factory settings" it gives me some bs about getting actual genuine windows. i dont know why it does this. i didnt pirate my windows and its super glitchy and its really making me angry and i cant find a tutorial that helps me
