didnt watch the entire video, and don't even remember the main point i had in mind for my old video but iirc, i made that video with the thought that people shouldnt worry about getting views, but rather make enough stuff until what you make is worth being viewed, and then you can start trying to get views. My video your talking about obviously wasn't worth being viewed because it clearly wasn't well thought out if you can dedicate a 15 long minute video to it calling it wrong, and the graphics and video element to it aren't that great either. So obviously if I want to make a better video, I need to learn how to do that, and the most obvious way to do that is to make as many videos as you can and trying as many new ideas as you can.

I’m not entirely sure what you mean by “worth being viewed” in your first paragraph. If by that you mean having a certain quality that makes a video “good,” then I’d be interested in what you take to be a “good” video. From how I see it at the moment, I’d consider a video “worth being viewed” if it’s decently entertaining or enjoyable to watch for a viewer, and of course if it’s something made from the RU-vidr’s passions. I agree with your last point, though, that if somebody wants to make a “better” video, then they’d probably work to that end well if they experimented with different content ideas and actually put rubber to the road by posting videos. Of course, in doing so, a RU-vidr shouldn’t have quality suffer in the name of “making as many videos” as they can. On another note, one that I feel I should’ve put in my video now that I think of it, I think that the majority of the advice you gave originally on how to succeed and the first “step” that you identified with failure can be reconciled. What I mean is that a RU-vidr can totally experiment with their ideas, “embracing the insanity of their mind” in the process, while also incorporating the advice of videos like the ones you show clips of in your first “failure step.” I just feel that these two things aren’t mutually exclusive, if that makes sense. But, whatever the case may be, I appreciate your watching my response! I hope not everything I give as criticisms of your takes is bullshit.

I don't want the public to see my videos. I upload gaming clips for me to rewatch later or to show to friends and youtube started showing them to random people that were not interested in them so I made them private and upload new videos as unlisted. But I guess my goal isn't to be a successful youtuber

That's fair! There really isn't any definite way people ought to do RU-vid, so uploading videos just for friends and yourself has nothing wrong with it. The points in my video were for RU-vidrs who want to follow the path taken by most others, publishing videos for the public to see so that they can grow their channels to be like Markiplier, Jacksepticeye, etc
