Fastest way to improve standing is in a Pirate System, kill the Pirates that spawn constantly. Unless things have changed in this update, you only lose standing when you destroy the little cargo ships. You can hunt the large Freighters with no consequences. Also if you hunt Freighters in pirate systems, no Sentinels spawn.
Land on a trade outpost. Buy the special alien item, whatever that is ( gek = gek nip, vykeen = vykeen dagger, and korvax = convergence cube ) and then talk to the aliens on the post. You can give them gifts ( the special alien item ) and they will increase your standing. Just do it over and over with as many alien items that you can buy.
I did this in a pirate system but I only targeted frigate modules and frigate fuel and instead of reloading all I did was pulse around. In the system I was in I kept getting attacked by wanted pirates this caused me to end up gaining reputation rather than loosing it after attacking the freighters.
I think outlaw system freighters have an bigger chance of spawning those modules, and also you will get a bunch of illegal goods too, that tend to be more expensive than the normal ones. And on top of all of that, there are no sentinel spawns on those systems!
So this. I only attack pirate systems. As you say you don’t get sentinels attacking you, plus if you stick to the freighters, not the separate modules you don’t lose standing.
@@Initialgs back in the previous updates after you maxed out your standing with a race you could not lose reputation anymore, it would say you lost, but never actualy drop, I'm still not able to check if this is still the case as I started on a new save, but I don't think they changed it.
So, I found something that is WAY easier and you can do the same thing. You go to a Pirate Sector instead of a Controlled Sector and that way you can attack the freighters without fear of Sentenal retaliation. The freighters are on their own and you get a pirate every now and then which earns you cash and even boosts your cred with the guys you were just attacking.
@JASON Make a new video ASAP but change it to a Pirate system: You can make 100m and hour and 10k nanites by doing this in a pirate system. These have an economy rating as well but I don't think we can see it yet. But you will find some pirate systems that have more A class and S class spawns and mainly the big variety of freighter. You still get the frigate modules, PLUS, NO STANDING LOSS as long as you dont shoot the freight drones. Oh and you add on grabbing all the good stuff at the station and maybe a trade out post as well. Dont fly with this stuff, if you teleport to your own base from a pirate station you can then teleport to a regular system to sell your bounty. No risky smuggling.
FYI, unless it changed this last update, you will not loose any standing so long as you *only* shoot the large freighters. You only loose the standing if you shoot the small cargo pods that float around them and/or any of the system pilots.
I just came to check if Freighters still have the modules and knew about the trick of Only shooting the Big Freighters and not loosing Standing. Usually there is One Big Freighter and a few Smalls ones in a Group..Only shoot the pods on the Big one.. then go find another group of freighters.
Did things change in latest update? Previously, you only lost standing when destroying the little cargo ships. (I didn't see you lose any standing) If you only hunt Freighters in Pirate Systems, no Sentinel ships spawn, plus the loot is much better (when sold in Normal Systems) Lastly, hunting the Pirate Starships that constantly spawn in Pirate systems is a fast way to raise standing. Lastly #2: if a Pod does not show loot when examined, it holds nanites Lastly again... "You keep using that word, I do not think it means what you think it means..." You can shoot the Freighter's Turrets to avoid almost all damage.
Exactly, you only lose standing by destroying starships and those small cargo barges that are apart from the big freighters. Back in the previous updates, if you had maxed out reputation with a race you wouldn't be able to lose ranks anymore, I don't know if this was changed yet...
Lastly, you don't need shield batteries with the upgraded mining beam which quickly refills your shield when spamming enemy shields. .... .... Using the Anomaly reloads freighters more quickly lastly fr fr.
The freighter containers will show if they contain a frigate module, just like the other loot. If a container shows nothing it contains nanites, so no random loot-luck.
If you call the Anomaly right next to the freighters, you can duck in there to save Then when you move to next freighter you can bring it with you I guess you could also do same with your own Freighter Just be sure to call it near BEFORE you start combat
Frigate modules have been extremely rare recently using this method, have they come back with the endurance update? Standing only goes down if you hit those accompanying cargo pods, not the freighters. Pulse away for a few seconds and usually new freighters will warp in without having to go all the way in and reload.
Good Tips! and they are kinda rare, depending on what you consider rare. I can usually get 2 maybe 3 per run, but there are times I get 1 or 0. Maybe average of 5 every 5 runs.
I have been just pulsing around pirate systems this way. Wrecked some 100 or so freighters since the update, yet to see a single salvage module yet. lots of credits, relics, and nanites though, just not the module I am looking for.
@@JasonPlaysNMS That sound like the rates are back to normal. If Littlekong is not just unlucky then it would be better to farm derelict freighters. r/NMSCE already found the perfect freighter for farming salvaged frigate modules.
It's a lot harder to get them from freighters now but heres a tip: Find freighters with *many* cargo pods and try to be near several fleets if you want to raid. Try raiding fleets from the race you don't like (in my case the Vy'keen) if you don't like one or prefer other races instead.
Its actually a lot easier then how you explain in this video. the ship parts actually tells you its a fregate module or not so you could just shoot the parts you want. If its doesn't say whats inside then its mostly just nanites. Also don't look at the big ships alone. the smal ones could have the frigate modules to but you lose standing destroying those.
try being a Pirate in Outlaw Systems. Sentinels won't come to you at all. Only the freighter you attack that will attack you. It will give you a lot of banned goods in quantity as well, which will profits you when you smuggled it in legit systems
I know that our ships already have shields, but it would be kind of cool if Hello Games gave us the ability to make them visible with the golden sphere like everyone else's is. I just feels odd to be the only ship in the galaxy whose shields work completely different from everyone else. Or maybe that's just my OCD talking...
You could have done this in an outlaw system, same spawn percentage for frigate modules, more valuable loot besides those will spawn, and you won’t lose standing unless you shoot the pods floating near the freighters.
Ah ok, I been shooting the cargo pods which almost never have a Frigate module in. Nice to know to attack the actual Freighter and just reload if there aren't any modules. Thanks!
Hardly an exploit, piracy has been the only reliable way of getting frigate modules for a while but that has since been nerfed now the freighters are carrying higher-level loot. I am getting them from distress signals/battles as a reward from the freighter too so now it's worth doing that.
You only lose 1 reputation for each container, and maybe defensive weapon you break. So for not losing too much reputation, scout out which of the minor ships have what you want, and shoot only them. Escape and return. Check the freighters last so their weapons don't bother you while you are scouting, and only blast the containers with the stuff you want before jetting off. After each group, go back base and buy corvax casing or the other two and gift them to the locals. Some ships are better at scouting that others due to maneuverability and size, damage doesn't matter much as they are easy to break open, but PEjector isn't the most accurate weapon and can cause uneccesary looting/faction loss.
This is known, but go to an outlaw system, you won't get attack by anything but the large freighter you are looting. You only lose standing if you hit the singular modules floating around it.
Start the Dreams of the Deep quest to get the advanced scanner for the sub. Scan for sunken freighters, loot, repeat. I would get 1-2 modules every 3 freighters, including 1 at 4 freighters in a row and 2 at 2 freighters in a row.
I just did this in a Pirate controlled system and there is no standing loss for shooting the big freighters. The little guys still make you lose rep though. Made a ton fo money and 5 modules in about 15 minutes without reloading.
If you attack them in outlaw systems the standing doesn't go down unless you destroy the supply ships. Plus no system authorities when you attack any of them :).
I'm pretty sure that your standing isn't changed as long as you only shoot the cargo pods on the freighters. It does go down if you shoot the free-floating cargo pods or any frigates.
New player been watching a lot of you videos thanks! But I have a big question how did you get that small fighter with so many slots? I thought they were limited to 19?
Increasing its class, and or adding storage slots via starship slot modules, or buying it at your local space station you can max out your storage. But buying requires a lot of units so prepare to be broke if you do.
To be precise you ONLY lose standing if you hit anything that is not a ship attached cargo module. If you destroy the Module the "ruin" of the module now counts as part of the ship so you will lose standing by shooting it, so you should only shoot exactly what you need to. Also system authority does not deploy in pirate systems. So I just snipe what I want in Pirate systems and suffer no penalty.
you will get batter drops off a outlaw system and more units from the frigates. Plus the bounty ships that come in to the system. couple minutes and you will have 20 mil each run plus frigate modules
I sincerely don’t know what you are doing that I am not but I haven’t found a single frigate module doing this since the newest update. I have warped at least 10 times. Have destroyed countless freighters and modules NEVER show up. I’ve tried 3 star systems. I get the exact same freighters warp in every-time too.
I use outlaw lawless and pirate controlled areas to collect. As long as you only hit the freighter and frigates you don't take the hit to your standing. If you hit the little cargo pod ships you do. And when I sell I take the goods to the best system offering the highest price. Cogs to industrial blood samples to science and so on. I have collected several freighter modules doing this and keep my standing otherwise I do pirate missions for the item to use at space station to clear my actions or purchase a bunch of passports
Go to a pirate controlled system and attack the freighters there, no system authority ships attack you. You'll get all the illegal stuff. Then use the portal at the pirate controlled station to warp to one of your bases....from there you can use your base portal to warp to a normal 3 star system station and sell to all the ships landing there and make hundreds of millions in credits along with frigate modules you looted too.
It might have already been said, but you do not loose standing for attacking the big ships. You only loose standing for attacking and blowing up the small ships. If I recall, the small ships is like killing someone where the bigger ships, they are still standing so no foul. (Sorry if this was already said.)
Also, suggested to not attack the ships attacking you (those "police" ships) as this will raise your threat level and well, harder ships come and hit you harder.
I think somebody did a statistic vid on attacking freighters to get salvage frigate module and they had lowered the drop rate to about around 1% . Being able to farm in mass will get module but at as you say Jason it ruins your rep. running derelict freighters has a 4% drop chance that number might have increased because I think I did 10 runs and got 12 modules. about a week before endurance was released I have been watching Alexicek lately and he runs the pirate missions and the reward is a salvage frigate module. I didn't notice if you take a faction hit or not.
Thank you and the comments, I really wasn't wanting to lose any standing, but I NEED modules since I'm newer to the game and I wanna make my base as cool as possible and useful but with the limits it felt impossible I was going to crashed freighters cuz it seemed like the easiest way but this'll help alot
I did see one as a nexus mission reward, this was before the update, apparently there hasn't been a single one seen by players yet since, but this could just be chance, but keep looking at the boards, eventually they should have some come up.
@@yerikmacielolivas8275 Ah good, so just an unlucky streak for the community the last few days then. Unless they stealth reduced event odds of coming up or something.
As long as you only shoot the freighters you don't lose any standing. If you hit the smaller ships around the freighters you do lose standing so just avoid the smaller ships.
So I can’t believe this wasn’t mentioned before. I farm these freighters in a pirate system. Get Tons of contraband to sell including Frigate modules. Just don’t shoot the little storage units or your standing with what ever faction that was.
The freighters in pirate systems will drop modules as well, but the loot is worth more and you don’t get any sentinels. I thought you only loose rep if you shoot the cargo pods though, plus I have found since getting max rep from killing pirates mainly that even when I accidentally shoot the pods it doesn’t seem to hurt my rep.
Been playing for several months and have NEVER SEEN a frigate module !!! Never saw where frigates used for expeditions COULD be upgraded with modules. I saw where you can get modules for starships and freighters !! Has there been a change from 2 years ago ? I can make frigate fuel, that's it. frigates, starships and freighters are all different classes of ships.
@@bennym1956 dude is so hard to get them. The typical methods is making maybe mission in Anomaly that can give it to you, (if u have luck),In freighters abandoned and the method of video. Al the ones I have get is like the method of video but it take crazy time
@@matiasdelapava8765 The easy way is to max out merchant or explorer guilds and get freebies from merchant envoys on space stations. Once you find a space stations that gives you salvage module just tp back and forth and keep getting those freebies.
Yea I just warp in and out of pirate sectors shoot only cargo holdings no reputation loss even if I did pirates show up and I get it back. I got like 15 frigate models in 2 hours running back and forth.
How to farm frigate modules: 1. Obtain 2 frigate modules 2. Go to space anomaly 3. Put modules in your personal refiner 4. Exit ship and create autosave 5. Take modules out of your refiner 6. Gift an item to any player 7. Reload autosave 8. Now you have 4 modules. 9. Repeat steps 3-7 10. Now you have 8 modules 11. Repeat steps 3-7 12. Now you have 16 modules 13. Repeat until satisfied with module count.
This may be a silly question, but how do you get a crew flying around you? Like he has all those sail ships, which I assume are his alternate ships that are flying around him?
these are squadrons, there's a new option to have fighters follow you around up to 4. Unlock slots by being in the spot in your freighter where you manage your fleet!! It"s really cool you can even upgrade the pilots (for ALOT of nanites) but that makes it worth only using s class ships you find for squadrons. After you have the slot unlocked, any ship you can buy will unlock the option to be hired instead(don't think you can use ships you've already bought but not sure) hope this helps man, I was really confused at first about it at first lol
I found out if you attack a frigate while pirates are already attacking they won't aim at you as much and only one sentinel ship spawns that I just run away from
The freighter seems to be fair game in any system. At least I didn't see a faction hit until I hit one if the frigates. You can always just turn in a bunch of those turn in items (dagger, cube, nip nip buds) in the respective system.
I prefer doing this in a Outlaw system because you don't get attacked by sentinels. Also you can avoid losing standing by only attacking the cargo pods on freighters and just avoid targeting the frigates.
you know you can also kill and take from the frigates of every freighter tho right?.... surprised you didnt mention them... all those little flying pods have nice things too.
I would not personally call this an exploit, just "save scumming" :) I thought you where gonna talk about the portable refiner duplication exploit. (not that I have done that..) *cough*
After a while I just picked a faction I didn't care about (Korvak in my case) and just targeted those and didn't care about loss of standing with them.
So I've been doing this for awhile now. Pretty simple trick, send your freighter to a decent system, have the upgrade to be able to send to your frigate storage from outside the system, bounce from planet to planet in a pirate system to spawn and attack freighters & their frigates, once your ship/exo suit is full send that off to your freighter, ideally using CARGO slots so you can store more. Once your inventory is full teleport from the space station to your freighter which should have a trade terminal. SELL IT ALL. ALL OF IT. you will be making hundreds of millions of dollars just do this for a few hours. Once you've destroyed the whole fleet, leave the area, land on the station or another planet, new fleets will warp in. This will go on forever and as long as you have a trade terminal on your freighter you will never be scanned for contraband.
forgot to add, if you use missiles only on the freighter they don't shoot back, you can take out ALL the turrets first with missiles and not have a single shot fired at you, gets sketchier to use missiles on the cargo compartments but it does the same trick, don't hit the freighter and you can take the whole thing out without the alarm sounding. pure profit
Lots of misinformation in this video. #1 You only lose standing if you shoot the single target floating frigates or shoot the innocent flying starships. The multi-target frigates with many cargo pods will not lose you standing. #2 You don't need to reload your save, or even make a save. You can simply just pulse forward a little. There is no manipulating of the combat, or whatever you said. They will just keep spawning forever as long as you are out of range of the last one. #3 It's far better to farm them in pirate systems since you not only get contraband and frigate modules but you also do not trigger sentinals, which means your fleet won't get in the way. #4 I'd recommend using a combination of rockets and infraknife for quickly disposing of the ships and also hitting problematic angles on cargo pods.
Infraknife and rockets are good for when their shields are down. Real Gs use the cyclotron ballista until their shields are down, and THEN switch to rockets or infraknife.
Did they change how freighters look? I recently got into nms and been trying to farm frigate modules but I’ve seen the same type of freighters each time they spawn in. None of them looked like this and didnt nearly have as many cargo pods as the ships in the video. I’ve found one module so far after doing this for an hour. Is there an updated guide to getting these?
