Well I was keeping two then I found another one with a hurt eye. Which I am quaranting right now. BUT today I woke up to 16 more little babies in my original enclosure. I thought she was gravid! My favorite snakes are hognose but I also like the garters! I give my adults all of that except pig heart. Well I only give them tilapia for fish but I'm willing to try different fish. Oh yeah and occasionally live guppies.

Where do you get the earthworms? I get concerned about parasites from the ones at fishing shops.

Hey Johan so I am planning on keeping a tarantula and it will b my first time ever keeping one. I need something that's both colorful and interactive as in something that tolerates almost everyday handling. I would really appreciate it if you could point in the right direction. I love Green Bottle Blue and Mexican Fireleg Tarantulas so far. Do lemme know.
@JohanExoticGlobal
@JohanExoticGlobal 2 года назад
Thank you for your comment! First of all i just want to inform you that handling is something that is very controversial in the hobby. You might already know this, but I just wanted to make sure just in case. Also there big be super docile species, but that doesn't make it a guaranteed that your specimen will be docile. Everyone comes with an own personality. The Mexican fireleg is stunning! But is also known for being a hair kicker. But again, doesn't mean that everyone is. The ggb is also stunning, but is also known to kick its hairs. It is also a species that is very food aggressive and quick. The species I keep hearing the most stories about being docile is the Curly hair. My own girl is also very calm and I can handle her without any problems. So my recommendation would definitely be a curly hair. But I would also think twice about handling her every single day. 😊👍

@@JohanExoticGlobal So if I were to go keep them just as display pets and no handling whatsoever I can also keep the ornamental advanced ones too right since handling is not even needed like the Gooty Sapphire Ornamental T or Cobalt Blue or something along those lines.
@JohanExoticGlobal
@JohanExoticGlobal 2 года назад
@@MohanSingh-dg7jb hmm.. Good question. But I honestly don't think it's the handling that make an species more advanced. Some species require a little "advanced" care. Also, if it is a quick species. It doesn't matter if you handle. You still have to feel comfortable doing maintenance of the terrarium and what not. But I really think that all tarantulas can be a good beginner species. Not for everyone tho. The key for me is that I'm not scared of any of my tarantulas, but I do respect them :)

Hi Johan I have 7 Garters at home, there all beautiful. That what you say about mice is not correct. You should mainly feed them with mice, because Garters die easy of less vitamin B.
@JohanExoticGlobal
@JohanExoticGlobal 2 года назад
I see. Well I just go of the research I have gone by. And my breeder says he has experience with obese snakes when feeding to many mice! But I love to get your input! Thank you so much for sharing+

@@JohanExoticGlobal Many people make the mistake and overfeed them, because there are very greedy. Feed themwith Mice and Fish in a combination. Then you make nothing wrong.
