Most of the ants that died were probably the result of friendly fire. Formuc acid can kill the roaches but it can also kill the ants when sprayed in mass.

I LOVE how the remaining ants formed a "survival perimeter". I'm guessing they wanted to immediately form it from the get-go but they were overrun by the chaos so quickly. In nature, I think the ants would have fared even better.
Please come to Jesus Christ. If we have faith in Him as our Lord and Savior and turn from our sins, living Holy, we can be saved. God is love and has gives us Christ that through faith in Him and obedience to His words, we can have everlasting life. Please choose Him today. We can never be sure what exactly will happen tomorrow. Life is uncertain. Come to Christ and be saved. May God bless you and lead you in the Truth!
~Fun fact~ You can resolve a major roach infestation issue by boiling eggs, taking the cooked yolk, mixing it with boric acid powder and sugar into small clay like balls and putting them where roaches frequent. They will eat, then go back to wherever the home is and spread the poison as they die and get eaten by the others
This is how i got rid of my pretty bad infestation. After countless exterminator visits were to no avail. This method got rid of them in 2 days. We went to sleep at our grandpas home for the weekend and when we came back the floor was a roach graveyard. We vacuumed and cleaned out the little dead shits and never saw a single one since. We moved out of that apartment but for 2 years after the boric acid treatment we havent seen a single one. And like i said we had a pretty bad infestation.
Ants are thinking cockroaches are their opponents and enemy and cockroaches are thinking ants are their enemy but the real enemy is that person who kept them in one place together...

I think the outcome would have been more in favor of the ants if they had been at their nest, they Likely would have formed a much more organized defense.

Nah, this species of ants simply does not deal with these cockroaches as well. Their size is too small and they literally died to the cockroaches stepping on them. Plus ants work together to survive, they are fairly weak alone. An equal number of ants versus an equal number of another animal is just not a fair comparison. Their secret weapon is basically to outnumber their enemy so even if they were in their nest as long as they only have a thousand ants they would probably also lose (if the cockroaches dare attack, but I don’t think they would in the wild, cockroaches simply aren’t fighters and only won due to their size).
Also, how many ants were injured when he was scraping them to one side? Quite a few I would guess. It would have been fairer just to tip the roaches straight onto the ants.
I'd like to see what it would look like if you made a tube from one tank to the other and let the insects cross on their own. Rather than mixing them all at once.

It would have taken a LONG time from this point, as the survivors of both would be eating the dead. No interest in attacking now that the ants have established their territory and the roaches are wary of them and they both have an ample food supply.

The ants might be more interested in the food items if they had a queen and a colony of larvae to feed. That might be the reason why they didn't feed more aggressively. Ants in the wild can field strip prey down to the bare bones when they have a colony to provide for. Thanks for the video my friend, very interesting stuff indeed! 👍 👍

This is a really weird battle. Just imagine a capybara vs a strong foxes or 1000 gentle cows Vs 1000 dogs. Dogs are aggressive and strong and Cows are gentle giants, Dogs attack them completely chasing them away but still they can't kill 'em because The cow is too big. Cockroaches are cows here and Ants are dogs
@@Solenopsis_gaming yeah they do. They will literally kick you and jump up and down on you until your dead and then roll over your corpse. Cows aren’t anywhere near as helpless as people think especially if there’s calves involved then you don’t want to go screwing around in a random field on your own because they will hunt your ass down. It’s happened way more than you’d think it would.
When I got my first computer, an Epson, back in 1980 or so and hooked up to the internet, the very first thing I looked up was ANTS. Not much to find back then.
The outcome of a battle between 1,000 cockroaches and 1,000 ants would depend on several factors, including the species of ants and cockroaches involved, the environment in which the battle takes place, and the specific circumstances of the encounter. In general, ants tend to be more organized and cooperative in their behavior compared to cockroaches. Ants often work together in coordinated groups, which can give them an advantage in a confrontation. They are also known for their ability to swarm and overwhelm larger prey. Cockroaches, on the other hand, are generally more solitary and less organized in their behavior. However, they are typically larger and might have physical advantages in terms of size and strength. If the ants in question are aggressive and have a numerical advantage, they might be able to overpower the cockroaches. However, if the cockroaches are larger and have a defensive advantage, they could fend off the ants. It's important to note that such a scenario is unlikely to occur naturally, as ants and cockroaches have different ecological niches and typically do not engage in large-scale battles. In the natural world, these insects have evolved to coexist and have developed their own strategies for survival. So, while it's an interesting hypothetical scenario, the outcome would be highly variable and context-dependent, and it's not something that typically occurs in nature.
How many ants were injured when he was scraping them to one side? Quite a few I would guess. It would have been fairer just to tip the roaches straight onto the ants.
I wonder if the cockroaches would have too much of an advantage starting on top of the ants... not sure. But by injuring some of the ants before the battle, that's not fair either. You're right.
The ants injured themselves. When formuc acid is sprayed in the air itself it is lethal to all. However in smaller battles the ants bite than spray the acid in the wound. When a major mega organism is the intruder than they spray the acid into the air to suffocate and drive away the intruder. I would suppose being covered in a mass of roaches would trigger the same response.
@@Hornet_Legion This is incorrect. Ants use their own acid to disinfect themselves and their stomachs. A team from Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg (MLU) and the University of Bayreuth has found that formic acid kills harmful bacteria in the animal's food, thereby reducing the risk of disease. At the same time, the acid significantly influences the ant's intestinal flora. The new study was published in the journal eLife.

What I would be curious to know is if you continually fed the roaches, would there come a point where they become sated, full, gorged with food to the point where they would eat no more for a certain period of time? Would they eat themselves to death? What would be the result of offering roaches unlimited food?

Ants live in colonies and have a home with a queen they want to return to, so their behavior is drastically different, while roaches don't, so the roaches are more comfortable even though they probably aren't too happy about the situation either

the spontaneous scattering of the roaches on the left of the tank near the end of the battle is a fascinating mystery. As if there was a sudden massive formic acid release. But how could that be? Could it be caused by an ant saying, 'Everybody spray now!"? or an coincidence? or did the videographer blow something into the tank from outside camera sight?
