Thanks for posting these vids on the Relay. I am currently eyeing this bike and appreciate your thoughts on the bike. Are you liking the coil shock? I seem to be happier with an air shock as I think they're easier to tune in general. Do you think the 170mm travel is about right for this bike or is it too much? I ride the Aliso trails regularly and there's plenty of rough sections where it seems like the having this much travel would be ideal. Any other obvious cons or dislikes so far?
Hi, thank you for watching! 1. I currently like the coil shock, but will go down to a 375 lb coil (on size M they come with 400lb) I think air will be easier to tune, but I find that with coil I really the traction and small bump compliance I get (plus the reliability/less servicing required) 2. So I also ride a transition sentinel (160/150) and I bought this bike mainly for rough and rowdy trails. With that being said I think 170mm is perfect for this bike. But if this is going to be your only bike I would probably opt for the 160/160 build. 3. I would say my only big cons is the rattle that I can’t seem to hunt down and then the battery door cover not being more secure. (have never had any problem with it but it would better if it felt more secured when locked) Hope this helps!
