I think some people try to read the Bible expecting to get “high” on God like he’s a drug. Gonna get your “warm and fuzzy feels” fix from the word and you can feel like God is with you. I dunno, I think this is the wrong approach. We shouldn’t be looking for feelings. We should be looking for faith and trust, no matter how we feel.
Heavenly Father, please wrap your loving arms around Sarah and her son. Help them reconnect with You, Lord, and give them the peace that passes all understanding. Be with them during this difficult season in their lives, and help all of us lift them up, surround them, and support them. Give us the correct words to speak, Dear Father. Give us the wisdom to share with them, God. We know nothing is too difficult for the Lord, and we ask that you renew these two beautiful souls' hearts to show them that You are always with them, and You will never leave them. In Jesus' name AMEN
I feel like this is for me. I lost a son & ive been struggling so bad with my Bible study & just quit trying bc I felt like God couldn't hear my prayers. If you all here would pray for me I'd greatly appreciate it ❤
Its so weird bc I used to check RU-vid a few times a day looking for new videos here on how to faith a life but when ì started struggling so bad & quit bible studying, I stopped coming here too. Today I just felt like I should check your channel & first video I see is this one.
My parents weren't always there for me. My mom based everything on whether we deserved it or not. So after I became a Christian, it was super hard for me to think God our Father wanted anything good for me. I felt I never deserved Him or anything. I never felt Him close to me or felt comfort like other Christians did. I figured He was mad at me for messing up...which I messed up alot! But after reading more and more, and writing promises from God down, put MY name in there...Like God so loved Patti, that He gave His only Son for her, that if Patti would believe in Him, Patti will have everlasting life. That helped me alot. Plus I made a point to talk to God alot. I'm sure He laughed at me alot, because He does love us. And we laugh at our own kids sometimes. So, I tell Him.........I don't Feel Anything God! But this bible right here says you are Immanuel, God with us. So, I am going to believe you are with me. After awhile.......He drew me closer and closer. I still have my moments. But one thing I know......He is SUPER better than any earthly human parent....and He loves us with an Everlasting Love!!! Sarah, I am specifically praying that God will make Himself known to you in a way that will leave NO DOUBT that He loves you and that He is just waiting for you to run to His word so He can meet you there. To that end I always begin my time in Scripture with a prayer that He will meet me there and have me to hear or see whatever it is that I need in that moment and He has never failed to meet me there. His words haven’t always been what I wanted, or thought I needed, to hear but I wrote/write them down anyway and have been able to look back and see that He always gave me just what I needed exactly when I needed it even though I didn’t always realize it immediately. He is faithful even when we are not. Some days that is all the gratitude I can muster. Take heart sister! He loves you and will meet you where you are.

Praying for you Sara! I love how Faith reminds us to be honest, open, raw and real with God. I find prayer journaling/writing letters to God helps me do this. Recommend for everyone to do a word study or watch a video of someone doing a word study on Bereshit (Hebrew - 1st word in the Bible - In the beginning). It’s mind blowing how it points to Jesus in the first word! Brings more meaning to other verses and passages like John 1:1 “In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God and the word was God.
Such a great video! Thank you for sharing! As far as word studies go, I want to share my experience, because I believe in the power of testimony and think this can encourage someone. I am attending a Christian college, and my assignment a couple of weeks ago was to pick a word, any word, in the Bible. I have never done a Bible study before, because I was always intimidated by it. So what did I do? I prayed about it. And then I sat in silence, waiting. And I heard the word “trust.” Then, I prayed once again. I asked for discernment to know if God wanted me to study the word “trust,” or if this was just my mind wandering and pulling up a word that I know is found throughout scripture , just so I could complete my assignment. I opened my Bible to a random page, and Psalm 56:3-4 was highlighted on my page previously, and that was the only highlight on my page. This verse literally jumped off the page, and I immediately knew this was God’s way of telling me that I need to study what the word “trust” means. I have been struggling with putting my trust in God, and by me doing a word study on trust, my eyes were opened about how I can trust God in ways I haven’t before. Psalm 56:3-4: “When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise- in God I trust and am not afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?” Psalms 56:3-4 (NIV)

I was praying just last night for God to help me understand his word better and to make myself a dwelling place for his spirit (I was reading Ephesians) and then today this video was suggested! Really spoke to me. And was shocking to hear you also live in SC! Represent! lol. May you continue to be blessed!
Sara, I am so sorry that you are going through this. There is nothing that weighs us down more and makes us feel like we are drowning, than when our children are struggling and we feel helpless. It's easy to feel like God has abandoned us when we cry out to Him over and over and it seems like we get nothing in response or things don't get better. It's a similar struggle that I am going through myself. One thing that I am learning is that I need to keep my eyes on the LORD consistently, reminding myself that my child is HIS and that HE holds my child in His hands. To pray, weep, counsel where I can, and wear holes in my jeans-but to ultimately remember to trust my child to the LORD. I have heard the example of thinking of our Bible study time like a bank. When we read the Word daily, we are adding to our saving account. We may not "feel" anything on any given day, but we are banking examples of God's character that He will use to remind us at a later time. I also think that we (definitely me) open our Bibles expecting to feel good, better, happy every single time. We read with ourselves and our problems in mind, and sometimes use our Bibles as a Magic 8 Ball. But if we can make a mind shift, if we open the Word with the intention of learning who God is- what HIS character is...then we begin to see our problems through a different perspective. Our circumstances often times won't change, but our hearts and our response to the situation does. It most often doesn't happen overnight. But when we are consistent, we look back and realize that we aren't as full of strife and anxiety that we once were. Philippians 4:6-7 says "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. AND THE PEACE OF GOD, which transcends all understanding, WILL GUARD YOUR HEARTS AND MINDS in Christ Jesus. (I'm also relearning that the amount of time I spend on social media, entertainment, etc- is directly related to how quiet God's voice seems to be)
Sarah, don’t give up on our Lord. He promises to always be with us and He never breaks His promises. Reach out to our Lord and. he will guide and comfort you.
Nicely done. Sometimes we forget that feelings are something we are doing, not something that happens to us. Feelings only tells us what is going on in our own minds. Feelings are never a measure of what God is doing.
This is excellent advice. The gospels and psalms and wonderful places to start for beginners. Prayers this helps this one who requested the advice. God bless
As a 17 year old who had strong feelings and desires to unalive myself as I felt worthless and had no direction / felt empty . I hope she and her son pray and understand that Satan’s lies can manipulate our emotions and make us lose faith in Gods are one of the BIGGEST betrayals that we can do to ourselves and God . but God did not leave her or her son as she wouldn’t think that she still has a chance . And I know Sarah is yearning for God but not as much as God is yearning for her “I will be with you; I will be your God, and you will be my people.” Leviticus 26:12 GNBUK. And Isaiah 43:2 “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.” I have learnt that no matter the situation and I can sympathize with her and the son you must choose to always have faith as it is a choice God will always come to you . BUT you must be humble before him and accept HIS will and pray diligently. I am very glad to see her son with her and I will be praying 🙏. And in time she will find peace and have a new testimony but God isn’t based on feels he based on the persons faith and diligence to him when reading/ prayer ect. . It will get better. She is very strong women/ mother and may God bless her for instead of finding other things to deal with the situation she Chose GOD.
Sara, God is always just a little bit farther than we think we can do. Hang in there. His timing is perfect even when we think we can't take anything more. He knows you. He knows exactly what you need and His way is better than all we can ask our imagine.
So good. Psalm 62 - Trust in Him at all times, pour out your heart before Him, God is a refuge for us. He can take whatever we need to offload and replace it with His truth.
Hey Sarah! Praying for you and your son! Praise God he is bigger than our feelings that are ever changing. We serve a God who loves you and your son so much. The word is a lamp to your feet and light to your path. Read it, study it, hold close and as you do I know you will “see” and in turn find the answers your looking for. As an encouragement for you, I definitely don’t feel God every single time I read Gods word and it can be discouraging but don’t give up! You’re not alone❤️
Sarah please know I am praying for you and your son. Please don’t give up on God, as you go thru this difficult season. My advice to you is to put on the full Armor of God. When my husband passed away last year, I read Psalm 1 and Psalm 77. They really helped me. Continue praying for your son. Read your Bible, make sure you are reading a Bible you understand because there are so many wonderful translations. I agree with Faith use a prayer journal, I use one. It is so helpful.❤️🙏❤️
I loved this video style! I'm so sorry Sarah! My brother did the same thing at 20 and was successful in doing it. I know you have lots of questions but with God's help you can start to help your son. I pray your family heals and feels the Lord now more than ever. God bless you and help you through this
God answers heartfelt honest prayers. Don't be afraid to tell him exactly what you are struggling with, even if it's doubting Him. He already knows your heart, but when you tell Him, He has an opportunity to really show up. At one of my lowest points I actually prayed, "God, I don't get You like other people. I want to taste& see that You are good, but I don't know how. I don't think your burden is light. It feels very heavy to me& I know I am wrong & You are God, but you're really gonna have to help me. Please, show up if it's not too late for me. My life is a terrible ness& I do not know what to do... " And it took a little bit of time, but He surely showed up.... "Lord, I believe! Help my unbelief!" Prayers for you, Sarah. I have 2 sons& it is SO difficult when they struggle& makes a mom feel so helpless... but that is a great place for God to begin... & thank you, Faith, you are the absolute best. ♡
Praying for you Sarah & your son! It can be difficult following God, but being reminded of his promises sparks hope. I pray that the Holy Spirit will remind you of God's promises and faithfulness. May you see the evidence of God in your life. He is with us in both the struggles and the strength. Faith thank you for reminded us to be real with God. He loves us and wants the best for us. In Psalm 118 it repeatedly says that His faithful love endures forever. ❤️
Sarah I am praying for you and your son. I sometimes feel as you do and Faith is so right. When I feel God is distant I try( I’m not always disciplined) to go deeper to learn more about God and His love for me.
Sarah, I also felt this way after I had 2 miscarriages within 6 months of each other. I felt so alone even though I was married and my husband was grieving in his own way. God didn't speak to me in anyway I felt. My mind was empty, my heart was empty and I was just so shattered. I wondered how God could let this happen to me but I did the only thing I knew how to do which was seek Him. At the end of the day He is the ultimate. The more I seek Him, the more I started to feel his presence. I fasted and prayed and looked for bible verses that spoke to my situation. I also looked for bible verses that spoke to what God wanted and planned for our lives, His promises. The bible says seek the Lord and he will draw unto you. There is still hope in your story which is hard to see going through it. My story ended with me now having an almost 2 year old son and being closer to God now.

Sarah, know you are being prayed for, along for your son. So heart breaking! In the middle of a storm we don't know what the outcome will be. But trust that God knows the outcome. I am working through a Bible Study that reads the Bible in a year. Going through that, I don’t feel like I want to go in deep, I just want to read the stories for what they are. Then, I do more intensive Bible study of specific books, chapter or verse at a time. My intense study time doesn’t occur as often, but I still feel like I’m getting a lot from reading some of the text that I never got to before.
And this is for Sarah. Girl, in the past year we buried our grandchildren’s father from a fentanyl OD, my stepdaughter took her own life, my husband’s sister passed away, and I almost died of sepsis. But, I have also drawn closer to God, been in my Scripture every day and in church whenever I can. I honestly feel the peace of Jesus in my heart most days. He loves you so much! Praying for you today too.
Sara, I am praying for you. When you are led to do things that cause you to immediately go into fear about " how will my son react?" ...please steel your spine and do it. God wants YOU and YOUR SON to be alive and in whatever path He has chosen for you. It is such a tightrope we moms walk.....but go forward with your words and your love for your boy. Kids have it HARD these days and we need to have them feel their safest with HOME. I am praying hard for you. REALLY PRAYING.
Here's what I think Sarah (or anyone else in this situation) should do a study on - Christian love and compassion. Because Sarah (and others), our arms are around you right now. And our hearts are with you, dear sibling-in-Christ. You are not alone. And we care for you. Jesus cares for you. Let us hold you with His arms today and show you the Love He has for you. Piggy backing on Faith discussing the psalms. In judges, the Israelites were moving further away from God by doing things outside of Him. But God would send people to lead them back. Praying for you, Sarah! Faith, do you ever struggle doing your Bible study in the same place that you “work” or do other things non Bible related? I have my own “study” where I also work on my small business, things for our home, etc, and I often times get distracted because my mind goes full work mode in there.
I personally picked a bible reading plan in my bible (I have an outreach bible (the free bibles they give you in church 😂)). But yes bible reading plan and community. #bestplan

Sarah, I may not know what you're going through at this point in time but I do know that Jesus Christ is the way the truth and the life for you we all find our struggles life always seems to throw a curve ball for us to have to get through I will keep you and your son in my prayers because just you being able to write to Faith and tell her what's going on in your life and be honest of what's happening and how you feel that God has just left you and how you feel like your son just wanted to leave this earth we know that things come to us all the time but I just want you to know that you are loved your son is loved with the love of God he hears you he hears your heart he sees the brokenness of you and your son and he sees everything that is happening never believe that God does not love you that he left you that he forsaken you that he abandoned you that he does not love you cuz it's all the opposite the enemy wants you to be so bamboozled and soul lied to that you stray away from God's word but please Don't stray away from God he loves you I love you and I want you to always know that God is there for you I will keep you in my prayers write down you and your son and put you on my prayer will to keep you in prayer God loves you
We all want to feel God. But there can be a real danger in that. We walk by faith, not by sight (2 Cor 5). Over time, my view of Scripture has been refined. I started out inspired/inerrant/infallible. But is more than that. I am now at: inspired/inerrant/infallible/authoritative/sufficient (no I'm not trying to start a fight) ... and finally one more ... indwelt. I believe the Scriptures to carry the very life the Godhead within them. The Scripture actually personifies itself. Gal 3 ... "And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Genties by faith, preached the Gospel to Abraham, saying ..." Yes, the Scripture is actually a Preacher. The greatest preacher of them all. Guaranteed not to be mixed with adamic junk. The preaching of Scripture is able to impart knowledge of God, without which true worship cannot happen. There are many other verses, but this one in particular is powerful. Romans 15 ... "For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the PATIENCE AND COMFORT of the Scriptures might have hope. Now may the God of patience and comfort grant you to be like-minded toward one another, according to Christ Jesus, that you may with one mind and one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ." Patience and comfort are personal qualities. Qualities of the Godhead. The patience and comfort of the Godhead. Words wherein the life of the Godhead is embedded. Great video! Without saying it I can see you are striving to impart these to Sarah and that you are trying to be "like-minded toward Sarah, according to Jesus Christ." Sarah, I also would encourage you to get into the Scripture regularly and let them just speak to you. Submit where you need to submit. Weep where you need to weep. Rejoice where you need to rejoice. Mourn the things you need to mourn (including any sins that have dogged you). Only the Scripture divides the light from the darkness. They are a prism through which you can gaze on the Glorious Savior and be infused with knowledge of God.

I will ask all Christians, to please, as a thought experiment to try to believe in something that you don't? For example take vampires, fairy's, big foot, santa, anything you honestly don't believe in...and then consider if asked to believe in that thing to keep yourself from eternal torture could your really do it? It is literally impossible to believe in something that your brain will not allow you to believe in. One could always say they believe...do you believe true belief isn't required? 75% of humanity burning in torture for eternity is the one of the most evil beliefs anyone could ever have.
I would suggest; don't open your bible first. I would pray, maybe the LORDs prayer if you don't know what to prayer. Matthew 6:9-13. And then give thanks to God, even if it is hard. This is how you pray the LORD's prayer - Our Father in heaven, Holy is your name - (Worship). Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven - (intercession, or praying for someone else). Give us today our daily bread - (petition, or praying for yourself) And forgive us our debts (repentance) As we forgive our debtors (release your hurt or pain) And lead us not into temptation (faith towards God) But deliver us from the evil one (spiritual warfare) - And then end with thanksgiving. I pray the LORD's prayer nearly everyday and i usually spend about an hour just going through it. This is not just any prayer, this is how you access the throne of God, this is how you will connect to his heartbeat, and hear what he has to say about you and your life. Be blessed.
