Exactly.. I did the long math for him but simplified version is any circle divided by it diameter is pi or 3.14… so he used 3 times too much fertilizer! 👍🏻
I use morganite which is a slow release high nitrogen fertilizer. It seems to work the best for me and the palms just explode when you spread it around them. It works even better for really badly damaged palm from the winter. My washingtonia which I have at my main house I fertilized and the other at my beach house I left unfertilized and both were very damaged. The one at the house has been shooting out fronds so fast a little while after I did it and the one at the beach seems to be coming back super slow. Both palms are in similar areas of the house and the one at the beach saw a milder winter. All palms grow and react differently to anything so who can say.
Hi buddy i got the same tree in uk, and its started going brown and the top leaves are dying. Could you please advice us what cab be done to make them healthier again thank you.
I picked some up today at Rural King. My lawn care guy showed me to water them near the top where the old branches were trimmed. Cannot find the species.
Diameter is not circumference!! It’s the width not the circumference so your off ! You used 3 times too much . Diameter is 7.64 inches and that’s about 1/3rd of your 24” that you calculated off. (2) pi r which is (2) x3.14x R= Circumference… 6.28R=24…. R=3.82 … Diameter = 2R … D=7.64… 24/7.64=3.14… 3 times too much!
Eric, I thought the same thing, haha. Time to nerd out!! C = 2 π r , or C = π d. So in this video 24” = π d. Divide both side by π and you’d get roughly d = 8. Divide that by 2 and he needed to put down 4 cups.
