This is why some men do not want to treat women like queens because this indicate that they are on a tight leash. He is not on a tight leash (dog), he puts his wife on a pedal stool and this is how he defines his love to her. The language we use is how people interpret the behavior and people do not want to consider to be on a "tight leash". When people use that language then they begin to develop the attitude, I am not doing that because I am on a tight leash. Today, it is hard to find good partners because it is these sayings that keep people from being good to their partner. This is a working relationship and about respecting his queen, not a tight leash. My husband does the same for me and I do for him. I am his queen and he is my king. Niether of us are on tight leashes.

Tracey Evrard It sounds like you and your husband have a mutual respect for one another and I agree with some of what you are saying. I do not believe either partner should raise their voice at each other. But with that being said, from how Steve has talked about the way Majorie treats him in this video and countless others it seems as though he only follows orders and has very little authority in the relationship. For example he has said plenty of times that when him and Majorie walk up to their car she will wait for him to open the door for her even if he forgets. I feel like opening the door is the chivalrous thing to do and men should do it sometimes but it shouldn’t be required every time a man and his girl are front of a door. Things like are why I said he is on a leash.

Interesting and I think the language definitely triggers people. I do think Steve loves to make stereotypical jokes or even enjoys the idea of his wife "holding him on a leash" or "checking him" i don't think he has no say... IF, God forbids, but IF Steve was like No.. Everything would stop. I do get the impression that they enjoy being submissive to each other

@@evanace4817 Honestly, I have to agree with you too. I get the feeling Majorie runs the home and Steve is just like a participant. That's not a healthy relationship. I feel as if Majorie walks all over and if Steve say something, she gets all authoritative/bossy

Divine Rae: Brilliant observation! Primary Love Language is everything! His is: Words of Affirmation. He also performs the Acts of Service love language. Hers is: Words of Affirmation also. However, she should acknowledge his acts of service and reward him with affirmation. I think he really, really needs that from her. We know it's not that simple, but we also know that marriage takes work.

I was thinking along the similar lines. All this constant "She is your queen", "Happy Wife, Happy Life" stereotypes are leadig in a direction, where wifes can get the (dangerous) impression, that they can push through anything, because he has the obligation to change his view, no matter WHAT he thinks is best. Down the road is a divorce coming, if one side is constantly told, "Stand back"

In this case, I think he said only 'she's my queen' because it was from his perspective not both perspectives.

@@zero1188 Demands? No -- marriage is NOT the military. Men respond to that kind of treatment well enough to have built great armies. Women do not respond as well because in general, our emotional makeup will not allow us to be healthy in that kind of environment day in and day out. That is not the way to get things done in the home, and men who have been successfully married for decades will tell you that. Veterans who STAY married will tell you that. A woman has to trust a man to follow his lead, and that includes him being trustworthy with her greater sensitivity -- in the age of no-fault divorce, your idea of leadership leads right to men paying -- FOR REAL -- for their attempts to bark at and boss their wives!

Also when you both have the same ideas of each other's roles as husband & wife. Sidenote that looks different for everyone, but your man/ husband will have the same vibe as you.
